Clear dark black brown colour with a large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate hoppy, graoefruit, wood, licorice - licorice wood, leather notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, woody, hoppy, malt and hop bitter, dry, brett - leather notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. 
330ml bottle. Very dark brown color. Medium size, brown head, stays as a ring. Roast, sweet, kama, yeasty, dark chocolate in aroma. Fizzy aroma. Roast, dark chocolate, grainy, coffee, straw in taste. As I pour, it smells almost like a barley wine, very rich malts, fairly sweet. In the glass it’s more richly roasted. Taste tells you why the aroma was as it was as it poured. It’s packed full of resiny hops, and fruity esters. Sweetish full palate, pleasant carbonation stops it from being heavy. Really spicy tingly bitterness, like a nice barley wine. Alas there’s a tiny hint of sourness that permeates the aroma and taste (Anna didn’t really get this), but I can happily overlook that in the face of the richness of all the other aspects. The whole thing feels like a bigger beer than just 7.1%, but by that I don’t mean it’s hot or boozy - it’s just massively flavoursome in a way I associate with bigger beers. Nice one.

Bottle, BB 10.17 (from SIP). Pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma is fruits, cocoa powder, apples. Flavor is sweet and bitter, cocoa powder, roast, malt, tobacco. Finish is cocoa powder and some roast, bit harsh even. Alcohol is rather covered. Overall:ok-ish.

Un rapido commento...colore bruno opalescente, bella schiuma cremosa colore bianco navajo/crema di caffé. Olfatto non così pronunciato, maltato e tostato. Buon aroma tostato, morbido e fine. Gusto fresco, maltato, equilibrato e gustoso, trama da watery a lattica, abbastanza sottile che esalta la scorrevolezza. Un prodotto apparentemente semplice e qua e là sotto le righe, che comunque si fa apprezzare per l’ottima fattura, l’equilibrio e la freschezza. Baramba (1038) - ITALY - FEB 1, 2016

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 15 Oct 2015) Black colour with lasting, creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark bread and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, cacao, black rye bread and a dry finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Solid and well made porter in excellent balance. Very nice.
