On tap. Black with tan head. Roasted aroma with hoppy hints. Coffee and roasted malts flavour with pine hoppy bitterness, excellent!

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 15 Oct 2015) Black colour with lasting, creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark bread and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, cacao, black rye bread and a dry finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Solid and well made porter in excellent balance. Very nice.

Black color, with generous head. Dark soul for this beer, it has many dark components: caramel, chocolate, roasted malts, some liquorice, and herbs; the bitterness is sharp, and a bit resiny too.
Bold, very good, robust.

Bottle from Pigs Ear Beer Festival, drank at home. Black pour with a fluffy beige head. Chocolate, vanilla, sweet spice and licorice toffee nose which eases gently into the flavour with lots more chocolate easing its way through. Velvety mouthfeel. Lovely stuff!

On tap. Light chocolate aroma. Slightly brownish head staying on top. Uneven bubbles. Very low carbonation which may be caused by the tap. Result is watery. Balance between bitterness and roasting towards bitterness.

Nera con schiuma beige persistente. Aroma di malto. Tostato.

It has to be warm otherwise the most dominating flavour is astringent ashtray. Dark brown in color with a medium head. The beer is way too over carbonated that doesnt fit in this style and does harm the beers mouthfeel. After decarbonating and warming it I managed to start to enjoy it. Nothing fancy but typical chocolate, dairy, coal. The alcohol is well hidden.

Assaggio da bottiglia 33cl @ folkstudio. Nera con schiuma abbastanza persistente. Troppo amara, black ipa pi che porter.
