UPDATED: DEC 30, 2012 Bottle @ Crooked Stave Zwanze Day 2012, sent to me by _angst_. Thanks again, Alex! Pours a fairly clear, dark golden appearance with an off white head. Nose is full of Amarillo hops- grapefruit, mango, pineapple, some resiny notes. Pretty fruity, easy drinking, mango, pineapple, just a bit sticky/resiny flavor. I would love to sit around a pub in Göteborg and chug this with the locals. marcus (10483) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 4, 2012
On tap at The Trappist. Pours copper with an attractive orange beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a very smooth caramel malt flavor with some fruit and lots of toffee. Nicely balanced with a great hop profile. Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Pour at Zwanzee Day ’12. Thanks Aaron! Pour is clear orange with a small white head. Grapefruit, bread, biscuit, and orange in the aroma. Taste is light cardboard, grapefruit peel, citrus, cereal, and bread with a light bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Not bad but seems a bit old. In short: A textbook example of a caramelized fruity resinous IPA. Good beer

How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed fresh a few days after purchase from a Swedish Systembolaget
The look: Clear deep golden body topped by a medium beige head
In long: The medium intensity hoppy nose is fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with hops resin. Taste has a typical but always pleasant toasted caramelized malts, very clean body, not too much caramel, fresh baguette bready sensation. And of course a generous amount of fresh fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with medium resinous character and also some green pine-needles. Bitterness level is pretty high and it is a bit sticky/resinous, tasty but not super-refreshing. This is once again a Swedish textbook example of the style, and that’s how I’ll remember my pub crawling and bottle shopping in Sweden, lots of expertly brewed quality clean beers, textbook examples that do not “try anything”. Very good beer even though I’ve probably had 50 very similar ones before. Another good beer from Oppigårds, one of the most popular micro in Swedish, a country where 4 out of 5 people make up of vast majority of the population.
Bra beska. Fin kopparfärg. Karaktäristisk smak. En modern svensk klassiker! Ett säkert köp för en lyckad ölkväll! Efter en kväll på SMÖF 2012 var detta en avslutning som knäckte det mesta på mässan! Grima (2499) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - NOV 9, 2012

The beer in the glass is light amber colored with a flat, fine white head. It smells citrus-hoppy, slightly spicy, fruity and sweet in the background. Starts with floral hops, combined with lots of herbal aroma, a sweet fruitiness and a slightly bitter spiciness. The middle part is hoppy and fruity, with lots of grapefruit, orange and some pine. Goes into a hoppy-bitter, very fruity finish with some pinewood and herbal notes!
Very strong citrus, pines, elder hop aroma. Nothing subtle here and thats how I like it. After it has been still for a while, the aroma dies a bit and the fruit goes away. Classy beer and usually beer that tastes this good is stronger. Bitterness and sweetness nicely balanced. JoeMcPhee (9459) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2012
Bottle. Pale amber pour with a thin white head. The aroma is a little bit fruity and spicy. A nice bright spicy hoppiness with a touch of herbal/peppery fruit. Grapefruit and other tropical character. Fresh hoppiness with just a touch of soft malt character. Very clean bitterness along with a touch of herbal flavour. This hop has changed so much over the years, but it’s pretty damn tasty in this brew. BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - OCT 20, 2012
Acquired via trade with _angst_...thanks Alex! Beautiful golden tangerine pour with loads of 24 karat and a tightly packed ivory crown. Fragrant citrus, freshly cut grass, earthy, and with a touch of floral. Mouth puckering tart grapefruit, just squeezed orange juice, and lemon zest in flavor. Again get some depth from the dank, dusty hops. Just enough honey-baked biscuit for balance. Medium mouthfeel. Love the assertiveness of this one despite its lower ABV. Very well done!
