4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear copper liquid with a medium sized white foam that left some lacing.
Lots of hops and very fresh, almost like smelling a bag of hops, also some grass, grapes, grapefruit and citrus.
Fresh hops, grass and grapefruit are most noticeable. High bitterness but not overwhelming and some left over sweetness. Feel very well balanced, specially for a single hop.
Smooth with a medium body. Easy to drink.
What can I say? I love hops and this has plenty of it. Very fresh and while it has a fairly high bitterness it isn’t really overwhelming. The commercial description says Amarillo character that is more related to berries then citrus. Which I haven’t thought of but I have to agree. It actually has some flavours that I relate to wine.
I think this is a beer that would work great on a hot summer day. It probably has some foods that it would work with but I think it works just great on it’s own.
Oppigårds has done a fantastic job with this beer, definitely one of the better Swedish beers I’ve tried and since it’s priced at 19.90 (5 SEK cheaper then SN Torpedo) it’s a definite buy. I’m personally going to buy a couple extra bottles.
Amber color, medium beige head. Aroma fruits, malt, hops. Taste pine, medium sweet body, dry with bitter-sweet finish. NORSAND (130) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - MAR 16, 2018
(Best before March 2018)
Medium gold towards copper colour. Medium lasting head.
Nose: A moderate but nice and fresh hops driven nose, combining citrus fruitiness with notes of pine, resin and grass.
Taste: The arrival is both dry and fruity. Fine, medium rich carbonation. On the mid palate there is a mildly peppery and resinous hoppiness and some sweet maltiness. Also something slightly soapy. The aftertaste is slightly bittersweet with quite a bit of grapefruit (hops and malt again). A nice APA. PowY (1273) - AUSTRIA - FEB 12, 2018
330 ml bottle, bb. 11.2018. Pours a clear golden with a white head. The aroma is grainy with hints of citric fruits, lemon and some flowers. Medium body with an average carbonation, a light sweetness and a medium bitterness. The flavor is lightly malty - sweetish grains, dried fruits, prunes, cardboard - and very reluctant hoppy notes (orange, blood orange, grapefruit, pine, grass). Overall not fresh enough and damp.

Bottle at home. Clear deep yellow orange colour. Small white head. Nose is lagery, flat.
Taste is low bitterness some herby floralness. The same earthy bitterness, as the others from this brewery. It goes. Cristobal37 (1345) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 21, 2017
Bottle from Aldi. Orangey gold pour, decent head. Fresh grassy, piney aroma at first, later more nutty like a British pale ale. Bitter at first, but like the aroma I found that the biscuity nutty malt flavor dominated the aftertaste. Interesting it's a single hop pale ale, the bitterness is well balanced. Really drinkable, biut I preferred the ipas a bit more from Oppigards. kapusil (1598) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 20, 2017
0.33l bottle. Clear golden body with a white head. Hay and honey-like malts, honey and citrusy, grassy hops build up the beers profile. Well made APA. miloszd (91) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - DEC 20, 2017
