Bottle. Look: Copper. High carbonation, lots of bubbles. Short lasting head. Smell: Neutral. Hops, malt, small touch of caramel, small metallic taste. Taste: Kind of hoppy. Nice bitterness in aftertaste. Overall: Nice, but a little thin. yespr (45443) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - APR 4, 2009
50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep orange with a small white head. Solid hoppy aroma with a distinct roasted and breadish dry malt base. Sweet fruity flavoured, light liqourice note and sweet caramel malt with a light roasted note. Biter and fruity flavoured into a medium dry malty finish. UPDATED: DEC 28, 2009 Creamy medium head, off-white. colour is copper. Lots of lacing. Smell is delightfully hoppy, fruity citrus, grass, straw. Flavour is also is also hoppy and nicely balanced with malts. It has a very apealing finishing bite. It lacks a bit of body for the highest marks, but the flavour is there.
outhfeel is nice, small bubbles and the liquid is a bit sticky, this is a great easter ale!

500 ml bottle. Copper color, tan head. Hoppy aroma with some chocolate. Notably bitter flavor with plenty of hops and unsweetened chocolate in the background. Medium body, medium carbonation. Definitely not what I expected from an easter ale -- a pleasant surprise.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours a copper color with a mediumsized white head which fades away to a smaller one leaving some lacing. Aroma is interesting but not that powerful: roasted malts, coffee, cacao, milk chocolate and some pine needle hops. Flavour is really nice with a dominating hop character of pine needles, grapefruit and apricot which is balanced by a some nice malty cacao, coffee and toffee. Finish is nicely bitter. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, quite dry mouthfeel. Overall just another one of those tasty Oppigård brews! FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 23, 2009
500ml bottle (Alko, Helsinki)Lalli (243) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 21, 2009
Rich red, small head. Lovely fruity and fresh hoppy aroma, sweet caramel too, really jumps out of the glass. Pleasant carbonation, lively in the mouth. Sweet grainy body, but tons of crisp fresh sweet hops, even a little gingery in places. Finish is sticky both in a sugary and a resiny way, and that’s not a problem at all. Very worthy of the title ’English Strong Ale’ - this could give most ESAs a run for their money. Full of flavour, but a really tasty quaff.
0,5l bottle. Dark ruby red color. Aroma is malty, with hops and even a touch of smoked ham. Flavor is more dominated by fresh hops, but the malty body supports it well. Very nice brew. TET (3031) - Kaarina, FINLAND - MAR 20, 2009
Copper brown beer with small, velvet, beige head. Aroma is pleasant, exotic fruits, some roasted malts ja pine needles from hops. Flavour is quite strongly bitter, roasted, quite dry, slightly fusty and lot of pine needles. Nice to drink with balanced and low carbonation. Aroma was promised fruitfull and fresh beer but flavour was too compromised and fusty. Not bad beer but I have a feeling that this could has been better. austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - MAR 18, 2009
Bottled. Dark copper, fluffy beige head. Good dark nutty aroma with quite strong herbal hops and toffee, even chocolate. Flavor is more of the same, nice hops (grass & some pine), nuttiness, little wood and cocoa, nicely balanced. Lingering herbal bitterness. Really smooth silky palate, perfect for the style. A great ESB, this one makes my easter alright.
