slakemythirst (201) - - MAR 26, 2012
Torkad frukt och toffee anar receptorerna. Lagom kropp. Ganska lång eftersmak. Trevlig beska. Slutsats: God men säkerligen vassare till påskgrubbet.

Bottle. Pours amber with a beige, medium sized head. Hops, malt and caramel in the aroma. Hoppy to the taste, dry bitter finish. Medium body, bitterness and malt flavours lingers.

Det här var en av de bästa påskölen som jag druckit på senare tid. Fylligt, kraftigt men samtidigt välbalanserat.

Purchased at systembolaget in Goteborg sometime in the middle of April, 2011. Overall, this is a very robust ale, with good body and lots of flavor that definitely favored the hoppy side. Pours with a deep, dark amber color and a medium-sized off-white head. The lacing is very dense and sticky: the appearance is excellent. The aroma is reminiscent of pine, fruits (plums perhaps), and a hint of caramel. The mouth feel is somewhat creamy. The is taste is relatively complex: a bit herbal and fruity in the start, with a distinct bitterness in the finish that lingers on for a bit too long. A very good ale and one that I would buy again.

Quite good, but there are eleventy billion Easter ales which taste just like this one.

ClubGonzo (5668) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 4, 2011
Bottle. Red, coppery body with a medium creamy white head. A beautiful sight. Aroma is peachy hop tones with a pleasant malt balance. Hints of red berries and wild strawberries in particular. Taste is a smooth blend of grassy hops, malts and fruity hints of red berries and honey melon. Not terribly exciting but a very nicely composed beer that I wouldn’t mind having for Easter. Or summer, like now. :-)

Draft at Akkurat, Stockhom. Pours amber with small head. Slightly malty, floral aroma. Flavor malty and fruity with some hop bitterness. (Rate offline 2011/04/21)

Low on CO2, it has got a big head that vanish quickly. Body is light rusty coloured. The aroma is caramel, nuts, resin with a good blend of citrus and grape. The english hops are very well balanced with the american hops. And the malty backbone of caramel malt fits right in. Really good for beeing a swedish easterbeer.

A gift from visitors to the store. Thanks! Sweet malty aromas. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Caramel, cereal, and nutty flavors with a nice hop balance. Overall an excellent English Strong Ale.
