Clear amber, medium sized beige head. Not very strong but pretty good aroma of orange-peels, peaches, nuts, grass and toffee. Quite hoppy flavour of grass and orange-peels with sweetnes from toffee and chocolate. Orangey finish, notes of chocolate. Medium bodied. Acceptable easter offering. Dark brown, medium head with good lacing. First impresion is loads of flowery hops. That developes into a more sweet maltiness with some tannies and coffee notes.Full bodied with some coffee like bitterness for finish. Unusual Swedish easter beer. Reminds me of an English strong ale from a micro wanting to be American. Somewhat unbalanced though. Needs a bit more sweetness. Smother as a real ale, I would like to hope :-)
Bottle. Dark Amber colour with a tan head. Dusty, light roasted, caramel malty, anis aroma and taste, light hoppy. Medium body with a light sweet, dry finish. ekstedt (6992) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 23, 2007
Bottle. Copper colour, off-white to beige medium head. Aroma is hops! Floral, with citric notes, and dried apricots. There are some roasted malt aromas as well. Medium bodied. Nicely balanced, some mild malt sweetness is transformed to a robust and long bitter finish. mugabe (258) - SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2007
Bottle at home. Pours a beautiful dark ruby colour with a good head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Good body with sweet taste of coffee with a more bitter finish of chocolate and a hint of licorice.
screwball (1099) - Motala, SWEDEN - APR 3, 2007
Dark dark red colour. Begie head. Aroma is nutty. Taste is nutty and malty.Good bitter finish. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 10, 2007
A grainy, spicy, toasty nose where the blueberry jam, milk chocolate and tomato seeds form an original and hard to describe nose. Quite tight. Following in the same registry, the palate is malty, with a dose of earthy hops and wild flowers, roots toi follow up. Rather salty (celery salt) bitterness. Original flavours in a toasted malt foundatrion. A bit more residual sugars than I’d want, especially that the body does not put them to good use, feeling quite airy and paradoxally creamy yet foamy, never biting, but never full. Lager-like mouthfeel. fiulijn (21399) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 5, 2007
Dark amber color; big head. A quite solid brew, with some malt aroma and taste, stronger caramel aroma and flavor, some nice English hop aroma, some rubharb candies taste; but the end is simpler, with just a thin body and some caramel. larsga (7668) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 8, 2007
Smallish brown head. Deep red body with ongoing carbonation. Sweetish, mealy roasty caramel aroma with hop notes. Dry watery resiny burnt malt taste with smoky yeasty notes. Sharpish mouthfeel. Bitter, burnt almond aftertaste. Very nice. (0.5l bottle at Oliver Twist.) Beer5000 (6768) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 12, 2008
