Refined golden malts, light biscuit like malts, appealing hop mix. Bitter enough, very drinkable, fairly big bubble. Nice stuff. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière) espenra (1015) - Kurland, NORWAY - MAR 25, 2016
33cl bottle from Systembolaget. Best before 2016-12-01. It poured a pale yellow colour with a medium big white foamy head. Aroma is fresh and moderately hoppy. Notes of malts, mild spices and light caramel. Flavour is bitter and moderately hoppy. Notes of spices, grass and spices. Medium long aftertaste. MarkoNm (2743) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - MAR 7, 2016
Pours a clear golden color, topped with a medium sized white head, slowly disappearing. Piney aroma, some citruses and quite dusty. A bit malty and resiny backbone. Sweet start, a bit fruity really. Very gentle hoppy bitterness in the finish, and quite metalic aftertaste. Light, but nothing really special. klm1 (1538) - Bled/SF, - MAR 3, 2016
Pours clear golden color with tiny off-ehite/white head. Visually medizm carbonation.
Aroma: biscuit like malt aroma, with hints of honey, supported with floral, citrusy and slightly spicy hop aroma. The same notes I detected in flavors. Finish is surprisingly bitter and lingers in aftertaste. Body is moderste medium, texture soft, carbonation medium. TolminAl (1) - Most na Soci, SLOVENIA - MAR 2, 2016 does not count
Extremely surprised by this beer. With the level of taxes and price in Sweden I did not realise they had breweries producing this quality and taste. I dislike sweet bland lagers and beers and this one suits my palate perfectly. It very much reminds me of Boddington’s of Manchester bitter before takeovers by mega brewers with no interest in beer other than mega profit, reduced it to a bland nothingness. When I first drank Boddington’s bitter it needed time to become used to it and maybe this Golden Ale by Oppigards falls into the same class, hence the low scores, but once accustomed to the high level of hop taste, all others tasted thin by comparison. Our local Hofer (Aldi) in Slovenia is currently selling a range of Oppigard bottled beers, of which four are outstanding. I will be buying plenty to store for the future months whilst stocks last, fortunately at Slovene prices rather than Swedish.

Pours a clear golden color with small white head. Refreshing smell, bready, herbal, slightly fruity.
Medium body with prickly carbonation. Creamy texture. Taste is mostly bitter. Aroma of hops, citrus, spices. Floral and grassy notes. Very refreshing. Finish is dry and bitter.
