Draft @ En Öl & Whiskymässa 2017. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty woody bourbon vanilla and caramel aroma. Sweetish malty woody bourbon hoppy flavor with hints of dark fruit. Has a sweetish malty bourbon caramel and dark fruit finish. NORSAND (129) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - NOV 24, 2017
Medium deep copper colour.
Nose: Dry hoppy nose, pine tree, hay, resin, moderate citrus, some sweet malt.
Taste: The arrival is quite soft, almost velvety; a function of the slightly sweet, moderately fruity attack and the moderate but very finely dispersed carbonation. The mid palate continues in the same direction, adding more dry(ing) hops notes, more resin and pine without hiding that there’s a nice underlying maltiness. Rather it is the malt which is the backbone of the whole beer while the hops is wrapped around it. The malt tastes mildly of caramel and treacle. Throughout the taste curve the beer goes, in one continuous movement, from slightly sweet to almost completely dry. This makes it a versatile beer, suited both as an aperitif and with food.
My first Oppigård beer and I immediately feel that I understand the enthusiasm for this brewery. This is a very well made beer which is perfectly balanced. Saying that it is medium bodied isn’t wrong but belies the fact that it’s the balance, elegance and purity of tastes which makes this beer so good. The best Swedish beer I have tasted in a very long time! Looking forward to explore more Oppigård beers. Turtles (3171) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 1, 2017
Keg @ Bishops Arms, Folkungagatan. Hazy amber, tobacco stained white head, some lacing. Sweet and resinous aroma, caramel, candied apples, earthy and dried dark fruit. Sweet gooey sugary mouthfeel, soft carbonation, medium-bodied. Sweet and bitter taste, caramel, sugars, figs, honey, pine, earthy and resinous. Warming finish. A bit too sweet for me but. ekstedt (7033) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 27, 2017

(Draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 7 Oct 2016) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit and hints of cherries. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, cinnamon, candy sugar and a gentle spicy bitterness. Full body, with a soft and rounded malt profile. Quite sweet, with a light alcohol glow in the finish. Tasty and well rounded, quite well balanced for its strength. Nice one.
