Aroma: Caramel and coffee.
Appearance: Black color with clear liquid and tan frothy head.
Taste: Medium bitterness with light sour notes.
Palate: Medium body with oily texture and soft carbonation. Long bitter coffee finish.
Overall: Soft features but strong finish. Goes with cheese and fish. GoddamnNoise (238) - Pontevedra, SPAIN - JAN 21, 2018
33 cl. bottle @ Home.
Aroma: not very intense aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate, toasted malt, coffee, capuccino, cocoa. Hints of alcohol.
Appearance: very dark brown color, almost black, with light brown to brown foam color. Medium thickness, with medium retention and low Brussels' lacing. Quite creamy foam made of small sized bubbles. Too dark to talk about hazyness.
Taste: low to medium sweetness, medium bitterness, low sourness. Flavors are quite intense: dark chocolate, dark coffee, roasted and toasted malts, cocoa. Quite well balanced, roastiness does not add too much astringency nor bitterness. The acidity from the black malts is quite noticeable.
Palate: medium to high body, silky and dense texture, low carbonation, very long dry finish with medium bitterness and flavors of dark chocolate, roasted and toasted malts, dark coffee. Alcohol is very well hidden, it's only noticeable through some sweetness and throat warming effect.
Overall: very good appearance. Good aromas and very good flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted and toasted malts. Despite the high charge of roasted malts, there is no astringency nor harsh bitterness. Quite enjoyable and drinkable. Quite good Imperial Stout. It would be better with less acidity from the black malts. gunnfryd (15652) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 11, 2018
