Black coloured ale with a nice head. Aroma: roasted malt, coffee and some sweetness. Taste: roasted malts, bitter coffee, sweetness and some hint of red fruits.

Gitzwart, bruine foamy schuimkraag, redelijk veel koolzuur zichtbaar.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2018 Black with a bubbly, dark brown head. Strong aroma of oatmeal, cane syrup, and buttermilk pancakes. Taste is more typical high-alcohol stout, with malt and lots of booze.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2018 Donkerbruine kleur.

Poured at Shelton Festival, black with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, wood, cocoa. Slick body, roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, boozy finish, very good.

Bottle. Dark brown muddy pour. Aroma of chocolate, oat, licorice, mocha coffee and caramel. Taste has soft licorice, mocha, chocolate, soft roasted malt and a bitter hoppy finish. Solid example of the style, not much more.

Truely good stout this one, it has the firm looks and feel of a stout and even a little oatmeal flavour.

nearbeer (5717) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 5, 2017
660 ml. bottle bb 05-2018. Pours ebony and has a crunchy disc of foam. Nose is espresso, rolled oats, cocoa powder and licorice. Tastes of blackberry, red wine, cocoa, soy sauce, coffee and whole grain bread. Medium-heavy mouthfeel with medium carbonation and a drier slant than most of the style. A little boozy and salty; almost tastes like it was aged in wine barrels.
