Pours deep brown under a thin layer of khaki foam which fades into a thin layer with a slightly thicker collar. Swirls average but releases a massive nose.

Toasted coconut and chocolate powder in the back. Chocolate graham crackers. Plums along the sides. A bit simple but encouraging.
Creamy mouthfeel – like chewing on chocolate dusted marshmallows. Toasted coconut along the edges. Whipped marshmallow. Plums and plum juice in the out edges and back. Coconut and toasted marshmallow in the breath is followed by chocolate powder. Hard chocolate candies on top. Tootsie rolls?
I’ve had this beer in many incarnations through its development and this last stage has so far been the best and is a worthy quaff I’d drink again. I love supporting my local brewers, and even more so when I like their beers.

12oz bottle. Dark dark red pour. No head. Sweet molasses aroma. Dark sugar. Creamy chocolaty flavor. Sweet. Finish is a little roasty. Good but a bit sweet. b3shine (9338) - Indiana, USA - APR 29, 2013
Bottle to pint (thanks burg326). Looks solid; cola with light beige head that dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, and toasted coconut. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Not bad. chinchill (5449) - South Carolina, USA - APR 19, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2017 12 oz bottles dated best by Sept. 2013.
Pours clear dark mahogany with a magnificent, durable, creamy tan head. Leaves a splendid coating of lace.
Aroma: an appealing, sweet and fairly well-balanced mix of toasted coconut and malts with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. The taste is similar, being a bit more sweet than ideal.
Excellent creamy feel with good medium carbonation, but a tad too thin.
O: Well-done Thomas Creek.

Strong coffeeesque smell...bold coffee on front end...tad watery on the back...light hops and light medium malt DoublEE (781) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - MAR 23, 2013
The taste is quite simply good. It is not tremendously complex, it does not taste world-class or ’rare’, but it does not seem to aspire in those directions anyway. It is just beer, and it is a dark roasty beer, and it is easy to drink. Beerathon (1680) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2013
A very bitter porter. Super dark brown with quickly disappating head. Aroma has coffee. A bit a sweetness comes from the coconut, but not much. Not special, but okay. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 20, 2013
This poured a light to medium brown color, fairly opaque, with a small beige head. Aroma was of light chocolate, and light coconut and metal. Flavor was very weak and astringent, light roast and coconut, but watery and messy. Eckato (147) - Gulfport, Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Pours very dark...from bottle, no head whatsoever....aromas of chocolate very strong...tastes chocolatey....with a little kick of coconut at the finish...first sip was nice. Very drinkable, and not weird like I thought it would be.
