ClubGonzo (5684) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 14, 2012
Appearance: A hazy hazel to chestnut brew, a warm off-white head that settles quickly leaving no lacing, but has some curtains.
Taste: Burned sugar, caramel, butter scotch, apricot marmalade, orange peel.
Palate: Low carbonation, small bubbles, oily and sticky, a big body, a warm dry finish.
Overall: I had expected more Madeira. sherry and Marzipan. Should maybe have been kept a few more years.
Note: Bottle 500 ml (Vintage 2008). Reviewed 2012-08-08.
Bottle from Systembolaget in Nordstan, Gothenburg. Pours a deep brown-ruby clear body with a small white head. Nose is deep caramel, honey, smooth deep malts, hints of burnt sugar and alcohol. Smooth. Taste is smooth grainy caramel, roasty sugar tones, hints of licorice and toffee. Very nice blend, with a full-bodied and smooth palate. This is a very nice Barley Wine which has clearly benefited from being released 4 years after brewing. And to top it off: it’s ecological; one of the best I’ve had within that genre for sure. A very, very underrated brew in my opinion. tourtrappist (35) - SWEDEN - JUN 3, 2012
Full bodied, sweet, full of fruity notes, syrup/toffee like all in perfect balance. _angst_ (4980) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 9, 2012

Mouthfeel is slightly sticky sweet, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and tiny sour with dark bread, orange peal, plums, dark grapes and alcohol. stobbe74 (3789) - DENMARK - MAY 9, 2012
Pours a clear and dark copper beer with a weak offwhite head. The aroma is malt, caramel, alcohol, dried fruit and fruit. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness with alcoholwarmth. Overall an average beer. sebletitje (10286) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAY 8, 2012
50cl bottle courtesy of and shared with gnoff as Vintage 2008, bottle # 6091.
