COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Pours brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is spicy, yeasty and malty. The flavour is high malty and dark fruity with light herbal hints. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml corked bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.

Cloudy hazy amber brown colour with a ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; Two finger head with crumpety light beige foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Very good sticky lacing with very fizzy carbonation; Fragrant and very sweet aroma of full malt, with strong plums, strong raisins, strong caramel, toffee, vanilla, honey, alcohol, light toast, floral, sugar, spices, bread, strong Bel yeast, lemon and grass; Strong sweet taste of full malt, with strong caramel, strong plums, dark fruits, brown sugar, light spices, strong dough, biscuits, yeast, lemon, light bitter hops and grass; Medium body. Slick palate; Mouth feel is rich maltyness in a slick background. Strong Belgian Dark characters abound, with strong plums, caramel and light spices. Strong brown sugar sweetness. Very doughty and Bel yeasty with fair lemon to round. Too sweet… Hoppiness is floral, lemon and grass in nose. Light spices, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is low for an abrupt, low astringent sweet malty finish; Fairly dry after taste. Sweet dark fruity and malty to mouth.

Comments: This one aroma and taste is almost all strong Belgian Dark - strong dark fruits, caramel and brown sugar - and well hidden alcohol. Saffron’s sweet aroma didn’t help to dispel its seemingly cloying impression. Lemon balm is too weak to impress. Like its dark fruityness but a tad too sweet. Drinkable with some hand-waving.

750 ml bottle. Unclear brown/amber body with a medium sized tan/beige head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, brown sugar, dry fruit and Belgium yeast. Flavor is quite sweet, malt, caramel, brown sugar, dry fruit, spicy, Belgium yeast and moderate bitterness. Some warming alcohol. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. Quite sweet abbey dubbel kind of beer that manage to balance it the way many sweet Belgium beers do. First few sips feels a bit overwhelming sweet, but then it seems to stable it. A bit one dimensional but quite pleasant in the Belgium tradition.

Bottle split a few ways. Dark amber pour with a generous head. Notes of toasted nuts, toffee, caramel, some light spice, booze and some earthy notes.

Miltei kirkas keskiruskea olut vaahtoaa kohtalaisesti, mutta vaahto katoaa nopeasti kokonaan. Tuoksu maltainen, luumuisen rusinainen ja makea. Maultaan olut on makean maltainen, luumuinen ja rusinainen. Melko imelän maltainen jälkimaku, ei juuri happamuutta. Keskitäyteläinen suutuntuma, ei hiilihappoja juuri lainkaan. Pehmeä jouluinen ale on ihan lempeän lämmittävä ja pehmeän makea pläjäys.

Moebbels (780) - FINLAND - JAN 5, 2016
A somewhat murky dark brown beer with a quickly disappearing light brown head. Nose is somewhat muted with notes of sweet chokolate, coffee, rye, mämmi and a hint of spices. Taste is quite sweet with a very mildly bitter and short finish. Very low carbonation and rich, sugary palate. Surprisingly decent and sweet beer, the low carbonation and palate reminds a bit of real cask ale.

TET (2929) - Kaarina, FINLAND - JAN 3, 2016
A dark brown beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has lots of sweet and dried fruits, apricot, raisin, fresh anyway, hint of breadyness. Taste has dried fruits, raisins, dates, bananas, not too sweet, some herbs and earthyness. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation. A positive surprise, the strongly dried fruity. Good beer, even the big bottle is slightly too much.
