Bottle, 75cl corked. It pours a reddish, very dark brown body under a nice, dense, beige head. Sweetish, roasted nose with salty licorice, some chocolate, coffee and alcohol. The flavor has a roasted bitterness, a good dash of sweetness, notes of licorice, and more chocolate than the aroma. Dry, medium to full mouthfeel, and a fine bitterness in the finish. Overall, this one’s a bit on the sweet side, but a nice beer indeed. 091226 DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 25, 2010
