Excited to get a hold of this as the first Orchard pig came gravity out a plastic fermenter in Somerset years back and tasted the ducks nuts. At just on cool and into a snifter it goes. Soda-pop appearance of translucent, yellow gold with big, adhesive bubbles. Plump and juicy; thick nose of ripe fruit with a gala quality showing notes of skin, and odd notes of dried bamboo, chaff, salted macadamia and peanut peel. Palate is fresh, lightly sweet and rounded with a creamy texture. Notes of strawberry, vanilla icecream and pear dominate with a tart, fruity finish. Slightly vinous, there is no denying. White wine with a Chenin quality. Leaves the mouth dry; ample opportunity for another skol. Delicious and refreshing. (50cL, BBE 11/15, Luckies Liquor, East Vic. Park)
