This rich Imperial Black IPA develops plenty of roasted cereals and dark chocolate over coniferous hops and their earthy angles.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam dips into the .
-Grapefruit zest is mostly overtaken by the roasted malts and resinous hops and could easily pass for citrusy hop accents.
-Mouthfeel is appropriately luxurious.
-The flavour profile is well balanced.
-Peppered steaks appear in the finish as well. Or I am just hungry?
-Alcohol is well hidden beneath waves of dark malts and green hop spiciness.
From the brewery; thx Eric!
Draft @ the brewery. Pours dark brown / black color with tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, grapefruit, and grass. Similar flavors. Medium body with average carbonation. Good stuff. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUN 4, 2016
Growler from Hopscotch: Yeah it is a Blackened IPA... roasty and moderately bitter, ashy and herbal. I am just not much into this genre anymore. ctipping (2135) - Florida, USA - MAR 1, 2016
12 oz. bottle. Murky deep brown. Almost black. Smell is pungent citrus. Floral and grassy too. Roasted malt. Taste is more distinct grapefruit. Very bright. Dark chocolate malt. Roasted bitter finish. Medium heavy and a little sweet. Very flavorful. BVery (10617) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - AUG 29, 2015
Growler from Eric - thanks! This is excellent. Dark pour with a dense cream head. Bright citrus / grapefruit. Nice rich flavor and palate.
