Bottled. Amber colour. Grapefruity hop aroma. Clean and dry with unrefined sharp malt character. Salty bitter grapefruity finish. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 6, 2002
Solid IPA -- better than I expected given the Sam Adams tie in. Good grapefruit hoppiness in aroma and taste, and solid IPA-bitter aftertaste. Malts are sufficient to prevent imbalance. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

I used to drink a ton of this stuff in the late 90s. I still have my Oregon fine ales keychain. This one was smooth, hoppy, and malty at the finish. Not as hoppy or complex as some, but still a fine beer. Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 13, 2014
12oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours an amberish orange with a nice white head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of the same. This is my first IPA. A nice tasting light to medium bodied brew.

Quite tasty. Has a nice, grapefruit-like, citrus flavor, which contributes to a stark bitterness. The ’sweet’ aromatics tend to fade quickly. Overall, a favorable brew (and extremely affordable), but I wish it had a more balanced malt body. But that’s just being picky. mjg74 (3106) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 28, 2005
This was my first IPA. I thought it was extremely hoppy at the time. Taught what hops tasted like . Good easy sipping brew. austinpowers (2828) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 19, 2002
Rather cloudy. Rather solid IPA bitterness. Not bad stuff. Contract brewed?
