On tap: The aroma consists of light-moderate caramel, faint fruit, pine, and some herbal notes. It’s a hazy amber with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a very fine ring. There is some sporadic fine webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of light caramel with a touch of fruit and toasty notes. The finish has light pine and a touch of herbal notes. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, I’m generally not an Amber Ale fan, but this is solid for the style. katrinaez (2020) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 28, 2014
UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Great amber. Heavy red. Full flavor. Spices and barley are balanced. Malt is roasted perfect. Buy it. Tap Petkus331 (389) - Redford, Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2014
An aroma of unlit tobacco, some leather and some sweet caramel. Appears like apple cider, reddish-brown, hazy. Tastes slightly sweet up front of caramel and tobacco, followed by a balanced marijuana like hop bitterness. Palate is ordinary. Overall, I am very impressed! firstsip (733) - Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2014
Tap at brewery. Opaque brownish red. Almost looks like a cider. Weed nose. Tastes a bit hop bitter for an amber. joshwoodward (575) - - OCT 2, 2013
Had a glass as part of a sampler at the brewery. A very nice amber, much more of a hop presence than normal, but still balanced.

This is a thing. I’m not sure how to describe this. It tastes like a red ale that escaped and got into the malt patch.... It’s less of an amber than I was expecting. It’s a full bodied red ale with about 65 times the malts of your average red ale. It Pours a murky chocolate-milk-brownish red with a dark beige head. No real nose. Flavor is malty first with some hoppy twang lying on top and a red ale backbone. It’s a peculiar ale... I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it at all... Krej (224) - USA - APR 16, 2013
This is an interesting one. It’s a porter masquerading as an amber ale. It is very dark red and thick looking. It had a very nice thick brownish head. It smells very sweet and tastes... Interesting. It’s like 30% amber ale 80% porter. It tastes chocolately which is weird for an amber ale. Not sure I’ll get this one again. salvaticas (778) - - MAR 23, 2013
On tap at the bar at Braun court. Strange. Subtle aroma of bread and beans. Dark amber/red. Taste is sort of porter-ish, but milder

On tap at the Shark Club in Howell, MI. Poured an amber color with a small sized off white head. Citrus, some caramel and some floralness. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Brewpub sample. Pours a slightly cloudy medium amber color. Very hoppy aroma. Red fruit, pine, citrus, and caramel malt too. Hops dominate the taste at first but the malt comes through in the end. Really good even though the hops slightly overpower it.
