3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very peppery flavor. Smells like a nice stout. Astringent taste. Bought a draft at ashleys
Tap, Bill’s beer garden, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. Hazy brown with a rose hue. Chocolate aroma. Not overly sweet. Nice hops, then the roasted malt kicks in. Mild finish. smroush (281) - Michigan, USA - AUG 4, 2015
Aroma is pretty coffee dominated. Some bread, chocolate and nutty flavors. Pretty malt dominated; hops are really over whelmed.
Small off-white head; dark brown beer.
Moderate sweetness and bitterness.
Medium to full body; average carbonation; average length finish; moderately sweet, bitter and acidic.
Overall very biased towards the malt; I like the coffee flavors, but fairly simple and not particularly balanced. Pailhead (6540) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JAN 6, 2015
On tap: The aroma consists of nice blend of dark chocolate and cocoa mixed with some roasted and espresso. It’s a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head that fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is a good amount of thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate cocoa and a touch of dark chocolate. There is a faint fruitiness in the background. The finish has light-moderate espresso, light roast, and a touch of sweet vanilla. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation. Petkus331 (389) - Redford, Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2014
An aroma of leather, coffee, and some chocolate. Appears hazy brown, thin white foam. Tastes of slightly bitter leather followed by a mild applish sweetness. Palate is a little fizzy. Overall, original for a porter, very nice. firstsip (733) - Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2014
Tap at brewery. Dark brown. Thinnish mouthfeel. Not nuch nose. Very much a coffee beer.

Tap: deep brown, opaque at the center with some translucency at the edges, topped off with a small, khaki colored collar. The aroma is quite roasty with some sweet cocoa shavings & a light coffee bean essence hidden somewhere in the back. Taste is smooth with mild notes of roasted malts, nuts, woodsiness, & a hint of sweet coffee & cocoa hitting the back of the tongue. Finishes with a touch of bitterness. Overall very drinkable, good stuff. koleminer20 (3599) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 26, 2013
On tap at Red Rock. Pour is a pretty thin dark brown, with a minimal head. The aroma is really bland. It's got some coffee hints, a touch of coffee and a smidge of roast. The flavor is more heavy on the coffee and is extra sweet. It lingers around, and finishes a little dry

Had a glass as part of a sampler at the brewery. Very nice and smooth, delicious. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Pours an almost pitch black color with no head. Mostly roasted malt aroma with a little chocolate. Taste is decent. Again almost all roasted malt. Pretty thin mouthfeel. I expected better.
