COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ritterguts Gose is a top-fermented, sourish and slightly salty-tasting ale that was first brewed in 1824. It is the beer specialty of Leipzig and the oldest still existing Gose brand in the world. Gose is an own, ancient style of beer that does not correspond to the German purity law. Even today, it is still brewed with an admixture of coriander and salt in the traditional way with the special historic Gose yeast in open fermentation. Its particular character our Gose gets thereby and by the additional lactate fermentation.
World Beer Awards London: Worlds Best Gose 2013, Europes Best Gose 2014, World Beer Idol 2016: Gose Gold, World Beer Cup 2016: Bronze Medal
Brewed by Hartmannsdorf until 2014 (until 2007 @3.9%), brewed by Reichenbrand in Chemnitz from 2015.

Serving: Bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a deep gold color with a fairly lasting white head. The nose has a light touch of grain and lemon. A pleasant tartness greets you up front with a touch of grain, lemon pith, and just a bit of salinity. Light in body and very refreshing. Recommended.

Bottle; pours a cloudy straw color with a fast dissipating white head; aroma is a little sour with citrus and malt with some spice; taste is tart with fruit, some saltiness, and spice; has bitter and dry finish but is very refreshing; I like this beer the more I sip on it.

Sample at McNultys Bier Markt on 9/13/14. Clear yellow pour with a medium white head. Aroma of malty sweetness and not much else. Malty sweet flavor with lager yeast accents before a crisp and sorta salty finish.

Tap sample. Poured a hazy light pale color with an average white fizzy head that lasted with good lacing. Medium salt and sour fruits aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sour fruit flavor with a sour finish of medium duration. Interesting brew.

Perfectly clear orange gold pour with very short lived light airy white head. Mild sour aroma, like you just passed by someone eating sauerkraut. Taste follows nose with a little sweetness like a weak apple cider. Surprisingly enjoyable
