COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Original Sin was born out of the NYC experience. The founders, all NYC’ers, came to see the need for a superior cider, a cider that was clean and complex with a noticeable bite. The quest to create the perfect recipe encompassed both day and night. Day was spent in upstate in a winery, tasting, testing and mixing. Nights were spent in NYC bars, getting feedback from bar owners and patrons. The result, Original Sin Hard Cider was released to immediate acclaim from sources as diverse as the The New York Times, Paper Magazine, and Market Watch.

Pour is a cloudy chalk color with a fizzy head. Aroma is nothing special as artificial apple is the only thing you detect. Flavor is much of the same. Very artificial and watery.

Crisp and clean looks. On the nose too, a little tart, a little dry. In the mouth there is a burst of sweetness that is quickly evened out with tangy tart fruit both of which slowly fade away twirling together quite pleasantly.

Draft, Nano Brew Cleveland on 26 Nov, 2014. Aroma is apple sweetness, sugars. Light in body with high carbonation and a dry, clean finish. Tart apples, weak white grape and pears. Overall well-made but standard.

Clear with only a faint yellow. Nose has a very faint acidity of Granny Smith and heirloom dry apples. Taste is good. Sharp sweetness that fades to a very hearty finish. I like this one

Thank you Shari for sending this to me. She sent 2 bottles. One was poured into a pint glass and the other was poured into a wine glass. The appearance was the same in both. A slight hazy amber color with a transparency about it to allow a bubbly carbonation to be seen rising. The smell had a sweet to tart apple note and an added sugary note as well. The taste was moderately sweet with a balancing tartness that was pretty good. On the palate, there’s a certain sharpness but still a light sticky dry sweet apple rolling over my tongue. I would say that this one sat about a light on the body. Overall, not a bad cider. I think I could return to this if I saw it again or if offered.

Draft and bottle. Poured a clear golden yellow color with no real head to speak of. Aroma is apple juice, sweet, some alcohol. Flavor is sweet, sugary, with some light dry notes. Better than most macro-style ciders.
