COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Original Sin was born out of the NYC experience. The founders, all NYC’ers, came to see the need for a superior cider, a cider that was clean and complex with a noticeable bite. The quest to create the perfect recipe encompassed both day and night. Day was spent in upstate in a winery, tasting, testing and mixing. Nights were spent in NYC bars, getting feedback from bar owners and patrons. The result, Original Sin Hard Cider was released to immediate acclaim from sources as diverse as the The New York Times, Paper Magazine, and Market Watch.

Pours an extremely light color with a fizzy, half finger head that dissipates to nothing in moments. Had a slightly tart aroma, and that’s it. Was slightly sweet, and a bit tart. A really bland cider.

12 oz. bottle. Poured clear light golden, small white head. Aroma was apple. Taste was sweet, apple, sugar, tart.

0.33l bottle @ Distilled NYC. This is a pale blurry looking one. Lots and lots of bug bubbles climbing up the glass. No real head. Smells nice. Apply, mild dusty with some pear hints. A mild apply sweetness in the taste but its not too sweet. Pears and soft cellar dust. Some acidity also giving it a mild freshness. Works decent in the hot NYC sun. 19.06.2015

I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a clear golden with a fizzy, white head. The aroma is apples. The taste is tart apples and lemon. It’s dry, bubbly, and refreshing. It’s not overly sweet. It’s a decent cider. Nothing really stands out. There’s nothing wrong with it though.

Closest thing to Bulmer’s Strongbow (circa 1970’s Toronto) that I have found so far.

On tap. Light golden in color. Fermented apple aroma. Traditional apple flavor. Prototypical cider, but good.

Light yellow, low head. Moderate carbonation, slightly tingling, on the dry side, a bit tart. Decent flavors, not especially distinctive however.

Rated based on notes taken 14 July 2012 -- This is an okay cider. Maybe a little thin for my preference but not bad.
