23-May-08 (633-ml bottle: Purchased 12-May-08 for $2.99 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Nothing too special with this Asian beer. Rice and bready sweetness are the principle flavors, but there’s a hint of spicy, mildly bitter hops in the background, plus a mild, lemony tartness in the finish. The beer shows better balance as it warms up, and this increases enjoyment and drinkability. Along with the standard rice, cardboard and adjuncty aromas, there’s also some lemongrass and peppery spice, so all is not lost in that department either. On the palate, it’s light in body, medium-high in carbonation, and somewhat refreshing from the lemony tartness. Golden-yellow in color with brilliant clarity. The fizzy, white head pours fairly bubbly and dissipates rapidly. Overall, I wasn’t impressed by the beer when it was cold, but it’s actually not a bad-tasting beer. However, it’s not enjoyable enough to purchase again.
Got this on Tokyo. It is light golden with an off white head. It has grassy and grainy sweet aromas. The flavors are the same with a bit of rock in the taste. Ferris (15910) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 5, 2017
Bottle - Bready and light grains. Clear gold with a small white head. Light bready notes and that is about it. nazzty (1376) - Ödåkra - Helsingborg, SWEDEN - MAY 28, 2017
Watery and insignificant with very little taste except for the irritating metallic feel. 60minuteman (1747) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2017
On tap at little local Kyoto restaurant. Pale yellow with three finger head. Pale and corn aroma, wheat, lemongrass and malt. Smooth and boring. ads135 (4731) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - APR 22, 2017
Pretty good for an export lager. Light gold, thick white head. Mild hay and grassyness. Tried in Benson with Jess in 2017.

Can at home in Kyoto. Pours clear gold wth a voluminous, frothy white head. Light papery notes in the aroma, some pale grains, hay, simple bread. Light sweet flavour with more pale grains, light bitter hay, more paper. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, with light papery dryness, some vague citrusy accents, more pale grains, straw. A fairly mediocre macro pale lager. StevieT (2015) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 2, 2017
From a can. Pretty standard lager, but on the better side of the ledger, I would drink it again. Block (2845) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - FEB 3, 2017
This beer is clean and light. Crips with moderate carbonation. Flavors of straw and grass, goes well with the stronger flavors in Sushi and Sashimi. bozoNZ (778) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 17, 2017
500ml can. Does what it says. Drought. Ummm. Yellow, wet, fizzy. Not much else to say PotjeBier (3460) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 4, 2017
Well, when in Okinawa...Draft in The Toquee, Zamami village. Clear golden color, with sticky white head, dense, but also with big bubbles. Some lacing. Aroma is fruity and soft sweet. Light sweet and fruity flavor. Light bodied. Hint of bitterness in the finish. As expected: Unremarkable but not unpleasant.
