Up in Edinburgh I was introduced to this very mild and incredibly drinkable pint. What a privilege.

Surprisingly tasty beer. Sweet warm, perfect for a winters eve and Hogmonay. Well done Tesco Shettleston for stocking it. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2010
Cask in the Market Porter. Alround rating: Caramel malt, nutmeg and ginger, the spicey is excellently done. Alround excellently balanced and very drinkable. BlackHaddock (7514) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2012
Two hand-pulled pints in my local Wetherspoons on 7th Dec 2012.
Found this strange tasting so had a second pint to ensure I’d got it everything correct in my notes.
Amber body with a creamy textured off-white head: the head produced some good lacing on both pints, so the beer was in fine condition.
The nose and taste went something like this: baked Mince Pies laced with cinnamon and cloves, now crumble a ginger nut biscuit over the top and re-bake the Pies. Once you’ve taken the over cooked Mince Pies out the oven add more cinnamon and a hop leaf or two before soaking in a bucket of alcohol. Put into casks and send to Wetherspoons.
PS: I liked both pints! johndoughty (5504) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2016
Bottle. Bronze with a small head.Lovely spicy flavour with a trace of ginger.
Lots of presence considering its relatively low strength. A pleasant and very drinkable beer.

Slight spicy aroma. Looks well with nice head. Amber colour. Ginger caramel taste. Definitely clootie dumpling as my mother made it. Wee bit of a kick on palate. Nice one. Will drink again AshtonMcCobb (6757) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 15, 2012
On tap @ Carters Bar. Pours dark amber with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has a sweet note of cake mixture and perhaps winter cake spices. The taste has more of the cake mixture, perhaps some apples or grapes and then the sweet malty spicy finish. The palate is at least medium in body and texture and has a smooth finish. Overall, one of the best I’ve tasted from Sinclair breweries. McWorta (1633) - LUXEMBOURG - JUN 20, 2015
Light copper colour, clear with a beige fine poring head with good lacings. Aromas of raisin-fruit-cake, ginger bread, cinnamon, clove, orange and mulled wine develops. Light lively, smooth, full bodied. Malty, fruit sweetness with light alcohol aromatic raisin flavours and a noticeable ginger spiceyness paired with a light bitterness. Lightly spiced up medium finish. Excellent with chocolate muffins! Biroholik (1481) - Sosnowiec, Poland, POLAND - MAR 7, 2016
