"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

phfyysik (1426) - Tartu, ESTONIA - SEP 21, 2016
Pours black with pinkish beige head. Aroma is sour, yeasty, some caramel, toasted bread, fruits. Taste is burned, some caramel, ash, wood, light sweetness, bitter, some fruits, creamy. Nice after taste. Good beer!

Wiecu (88) - POLAND - SEP 7, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2016 Dark brown color, creamy head, leaving a nice lacing. In aroma dominate roasted malts and smoke, but some chocolate notes are noticable as well. Taste rather delicate - dark, overburnt bread, smoke and peat. Low bitterness. Drinkable, not tiring beer. Even though I cannot say it impressed me much.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - AUG 29, 2016
Bottle from Chevy Chase Wine and Liquor. Dark brown body with tan head. Nose is plummy, chocolate, malts. Taste is similar of caramel, malts, plum, dark fruits. Creamy. Decent.

One of Scotland’s best dark ales. I love this beer. In fact Orkney Brewery brew some exceptional beers, always consistent and each as good as the other

slowrunner77 (12895) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUL 22, 2016
a good example of the fruitier malty English style old ales - dark on the pour...pitted fruits, chocolate, tobacco. Smooth if slightly fizzy palate. Good stuff.

Nurmis (810) - Oulu, FINLAND - JUL 10, 2016
Bottle at home. Pours black with medium sized beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, plum, notes of chocolate. Medium bitterness, medium to heavy sweetness.

melush (4737) - SPAIN - MAY 6, 2016
Bottle 33cl / Botella 33cl. @ Supermarket Seiyo Ishii, Nagoya, Japon. A: Dark brown / Marron oscuro. T/S: Roasted malt, sweet, coffee / Malta tostada, dulce, cafe.

arkanu (52) - Iasi, ROMANIA - MAY 2, 2016
Totally black pour with almost no head at all. Coffee, dark cherries and smoked plums both in the nose and on the tongue. Aftertaste is full of dried, smoked plums and bittersweet coffee candies. Interesting beer, though not a stile I like too much.

Koskela (505) - Marysville, California, USA - APR 25, 2016
Choc aroma from this deep brown brew with no head. Choc flavor with dry and slightly bitter aftertaste. Medium/light body decent carb. Not much to this one.

rodbod (436) - Motherwell, SCOTLAND - APR 21, 2016
Nose is mellow and rounded, with some malty notes, and quite sweet & fruity. Palate is mid bodied, malty, moderately bitter. A decent drop
