Bottle. Dark amber coloured beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly toffee and roasted, and the flavour is toffee with good bitterness and roastedness. Overall a nice strongly flavoured bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours clear reddish amber, light froth. Nose is plain bread (a Scottish thing, *not* comparable to a typical white sliced loaf), under-ripe banana skins, malt loaf. I don’t think it smells of cedar wood, and I currently have some cedar wood in my wood pile and some cigar boxes in the house. Taste is rather bland, but pleasantly dry - malty, earthy, sandy, clean, maybe walnut skins. Palate is very clean, refreshing, and there’s a good bitterness in the finish.

Cask at the Corrie Inn, pours a light amber hue with a nice creamy head and good lacing. The aroma is grassy, citra hoppy and dark fruitiness. Quite bitter, decent malt to hop balance with both showing through. Actually not a bad pint.

Cask conditioned at The White Horse, Banbury, Oxon. Amber with white head. Quite a rich, malty, fruity beer, quite herby, leafy and resinous. Some toasty notes, some blackberry hints. Good.

Cask draft at The Portcullis near Stirling Castle. Pours a nice caramel with a creamy head that coats the glass. Aroma has nice bready caramel with classic spicy earthy hops. Taste is nice and balanced with nice caramel. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Great cask mouth feel. Overall a nice surprise to find. Good balanced caramel with a solid mouth feel.
