At first the malts come across as strongest in the nose but hops quickly join in. Clear brown body is topped by a strong and lasting off white head tjat coats the sides of the glass with lacing. Pronounced bitterness doesn’t overwhelm the sweet malts and lightly roasty malts that blend wonderfully in the mouth. Medium body with fair to moderate carbonation and wonderful smooth texture in the mouth. This cask is in nice shape! Enjoyed on cask at the Halfway House in Edinburgh in September 2012.

Handpull cask at the Pilgrims Progress, Bedford. Reside brown, with a creamy beige head. Fruity aroma with redcurrant, wood shavings and a touch of astringent resin in the aroma. Taste is jarringly bitter, almost medicinal, throughout the sip to the long finish. It's pretty good but a bit lacking in balance for me.

BeerandBlues2 (13821) - Escondido, California, USA - SEP 16, 2017
Cask. Pours clear brown with garnet highlights and a medium, frothy beige head, medium retention. Medium toast and biscuit malt with light earthy hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium-light body and medium carbonation.
