COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic dry porter with coffee, toffee and roasty notes in both the aroma and flavor. Black in color with a refreshingly dry finish. Reminiscent of the porters of old before the days of stouts.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at the brewery. Very dark pour with a tan head. Roasted coffee on the aroma and taste. Palate might be a touch thin but not bad.

Draft. Dark coffee pour with minimal lace. Extra roasted coffee, coco. Not overwhelming and balanced bitterness. Medium body. Nice even in humid Orlando.

Pours a thick brown with little tan head that dissipates on draft, with no lacing. Aroma is heavy on roasted coffee with a hint of sweet. Taste is full on coffee, with bitter, dry finish.

Bottle pour into snifffffter. Nose is dry cocoa and some light coffee/roasted notes. Some bready hints too. Pour is black with an off-white head. Flavor is mostly light chocolate and some roasted notes as well. Weak flavors on the finish of the beer but overall a nice offering.

It’s nice to find a local brew - and a bottled one at that. For a porter the nose was light - but hints of burnt leaves and coffee were present. THe mouth feel was thin and bitter, again with hints of dark chocolate for a clean finish. The flavors were short-lived but all in all this beer wasn’t that bad. Shared by OmegaX - thanks mayn.

travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Dark brown to black in color and look with tannish head. The smell is roast, malts, burnt, coffee, and slight licorice. The taste is about the same.

Bottle from Liz. Pours brown/black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a little coffee and maybe a touch of anise. Med + body. Flavor is very dark chocolate with some gritty near-burnt malt and with a little coffee coming along. Anise? Maybe not. Definitely dry, but not particularly bitter. More like astringent from the burnt malt.
