On tap at the I’lle d’Orleans brew pub. Poured a hazy golden color with a small sized head. Fruity, some grains, yeast, and lighter toast. Sammy (12205) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 29, 2013
Funky beer with lots of, carbonation. Drinkable and some taste, but nothing exceptional. Thanks Tom10101 DuffMan (10434) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 2, 2013
Bottle. Murky, somewhat dirty looking golden body topped by a towering white head that laces messily. Complex aroma that has elements of skunky crushed nettles, capsicum, guava, kumquat... Crazy! Oily hoppy body that reflectste complexity found in the nose with a greater spicy presence and a creamy malty body. Finish is bitingly bitter and peppery. I frigging loved this. A multifaceted floral arrangement garnishes this hoppy Wild Ale’s bouquet, within which tropical fruit and shampoo-like essences carry the tastebuds to biting, bitter hop resins.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A generous head of foam is bestowed upon the murky beige.
-The flavor profile is a tad unpolished compared to the aroma.
-That is one hell of a gorgeous hop aroma. If New World hops aren’t your thing though, you might find this brew repulsive (it’s potent)
-Wild yeast is perfectly harmonious with the chosen hop profile.
-The mouthfeel is reminiscent of many Belgian Ales. Fluffy, expansive carbonation in a dryish body. In a blind tasting, you could wonder if this was a new De Dolle IPA of some kind...
on tap at la souche, qc. as "wild ipa belge" - deleted just now my rating under such name. hazy pale golden pour with a nice white head, some retention and lacing. breadied and chewy pale malts - belgian-ish. we have to dig hard to taste a very hint of acidity (maybe from wheat), nice fruitiness - some soft peaches and shy tropicalness, bitter herbs. average carbonation, medium body - feels just a tad heavy, short but present citrusy finish. orval-esque repertoire. quite enjoyable and well crafted.

Bottle: Poured a murky light amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of sweet wheat malt notes with nice floral hops aroma mixing well with the wheat malt. Taste is a very refreshing mix between some bubblegum wheat malty notes with some floral and dry hoppy notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very enjoyable mix between the wheat malt notes with the dry and floral aroma with light fruity ester. I would probably move this one to more regular production if I was the brewer. tom10101 (6084) - Quebec, CANADA - JUN 2, 2013
Bottle (500 ml). Slightly hazy golden/orange with a huge mostly diminishing white head and some lacing. Aroma is very interesting with a fruity brettanomyces, malt, belgian yeast, pickles, light caramel and light spices. Taste is moderately sweet (not cloying) with fruity brettanomyces, malt, light spices, light caramel and pickles. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Slightly dry mouthfeel. An heavier (more sweet, but not cloying) version of Rayon Vert/Orval type of beer. Super balance. Extremely drinkable despite the moderate sweetness. An homerun by Orléans! If it was a little less pricey, I would buy cases of this beer! Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - NOV 14, 2013
