Bottle thanks to Arch. Pours black. Tan head. Nose/taste of black licorice, roast chocolate and black malt, vanilla and coffee. Some spiciness in taste. Overly carbonated. Tricker (420) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 24, 2011
Zenwolf (269) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 24, 2011
Bottle. Very decent brew. Wanted somethign that would stand up to a sampled DFH Fort with strong flavors and rich body. We went to this slightly sweet, mostly toasty chocolate malty brew. It poured like motor oil thick dark and shiny. Minimal tan head with notes of lactose and vanilla. We really enjoyed this one. Wish it was in Ontario, though its a another great reason to visit Montreal. jercraigs (10921) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 2, 2011
2011-01-02. Black body with a good sized tan head that fades slowly. 4+ Aroma of roast and slightly charred sweet dark malt in the core. 6+ Flavour has a nice base of sweet dark malt, dry bitter roast overtones. Finishes with a nice balance of bitter roast and sweet malt that lingers into the aftertaste. Smooth medium bodied palate. Tastes a lot like a roastier version of my homebrew imperial stout actually! Solid but simple. Bottle from trade with Fred82

[3535-20110102] 500mL bottle. Roasted date malt aroma. Black body with a long-lasting creamy tan head. Roasted molasses malt flavour has a long sweet aftertaste. Full rich body. Quite nice, rich and tasty, but after a while becomes a little tart with booze. (7/4/8/4/16+) Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2010

Half Liter. Pours a black body with a tan head and light lacing and retention. Malty body chocolate malt sweetness, light coffee notes of espresso bitterness and vanilla sweetness. Mild sweetness with a lingering espresso bitterness to finish. Good stuff. sseb69 (1954) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 19, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 Bouteille 500 ml. 10%.
500mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, light cocoa, espresso and vanilla beans. Flavour is much more roasted than the nose suggests, very pronounced dark roasted flavours, with secondary tones of espresso, dark chocolate and vanilla beans. Very enjoyable. kramer (6908) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 4, 2010
50cl bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a fizzy one finger light brown head that faded quickly to a thin covering. The nose is wonderfully chocolaty and roasty with a nice sweetness and a lighter accent of coffee and vanilla beans. The flavor is big milk chocolate and coffee with a slightly sweet vanillla and cream note on the finish. Nicely done roastiness, no burnt or charred notes. It’s sweet for sure, but not cloying or sticky. Medium to full bodied with light soft carbonation. A touch of alcohol heat on the finish, but the flavor of it is mostly obscured by the heavy chocolate flavor. Pretty nice beer, one of the more chocolate forward Imperial Stouts.
