500 ml bottle. Pours almost pitch black with a dark beige head. Smells of strong chocolate and roasted grains. Tastes of vanilla, roasted malt, sweet chocolate with a slight roasted grain finish and a lingering cocoa flavor. Body is very thick, creamy, alcohol is practically imperceptible. I was blasted away by this one, was not expecting it to be that good. Tricker (420) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 24, 2011
No light goes through it. Delicate and sweet caramel aroma. Pretty fizzy and quite bitter with coffee and a persistent bitter chocolate aftertaste. Very warming, ideal for Quebec (OK, and Vermont) winters. Excellent strong porter. I you like these kind of beers, this one is a must. french tickler (648) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 1, 2008
Shared with Pyrozoid. Purchased a La Barik in Trois-Rivieres. Pitch black poor with a thin brown head. Aromas of ash, dark chocolate, smoked cedar, cental wood, burnt toast. Extreme mouthfeel with an intense balanced bitterness that’s far from unattractive. Great balance as well. Full bodied and medium carbonation. Flavors are of Roasted malts, smoke, ash and molasses. Amazing brew, best from this brewery bar none. Radek Kliber (7487) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - APR 4, 2010

Appearance : dark brew , almost opaque black , light finely beaded , tanned beige top. Low carbonation.
Nose: mild yet rich , slightly creamy , off hint of vanilla , bit fruity , sweet brown sugar , raison and sweet berry. Light dryness finishing. Alcohol superbly covered and blended in.
Flavor/Palate : full bodied , soft rich , creamy follow up . Smooth chocolate , hint of licorice with honey fruity top. Slight hint of green hop at end. Balanced , rich , rewarding and very satisfying. Great ale.

Glouglouburp. This is the first rating of this beer outside Quebec!!! Black pour with a light brown head. Aroma is pure chocolate decadence. Some fruitiness is detected as well. Flavor is full of really nice chocolate, dried pears and some roast. damn this was fun to sip.
Bottle. Pours thick and black, with a quarter-inch brown head. Roasty, chocolate, and vanilla aroma. Taste is on the sweet side; coffee, chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, and slight leather and soy sauce notes. Chewy and full-bodied, with mild carbonation. Good stuff. pootzboy (1815) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 8, 2012
500ml bottle the first rating of my stash brought back from Mondial. Pours a clouded pitch black with a decent cola colored cap. Modest carbonation. The aroma on this is mink deluxe – rich cocoa, coffee roastiness, burnt treacle sweetness, leafy hops. Sturdy body silken mouth feel. Chewy thick malting in front gives cereal roastiness balanced by resinous hopping but the middle gets rich luxurious with lots of complexity – fruits, cherry skins, walnuts, pipe tobacco, burnt treacle – goes to a long wet finish with increasing bittering matching roasty astringence. A world class stout from a world class crafter.
