bottle at The Danish Invasion tasting ...deep black ... thin tan lacing ... soft open roast malt ... under attenuated nose ... soft sweet roast ... little chocolate ... little thin body ... soft vanilla ... light fruity chocolate ... decent ... light fizz Oakes (19416) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 24, 2012
Nearly full black. Toasty, chocolatey aroma. Full, creamy body. Almost ice cream. Sweet, sugary but not fruity. The darker, edgier nuances of the aroma are glossed over on the palate, which is too bad. Too sweet, I couldn’t drink a pint. jtclockwork (17634) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 28, 2011
Bottle thanks to Arch. Top pops and whoosh. Big gusher. Lost about 1/3 of bottle. Rest pours black with brown head. No noticeable signs of infection in nose or taste. Solid all around stout - lots of roasted black and chocolate malts, coffee beans and vanilla. Body a little on the thin side. Slight overcarbonation, but not as much as you’d expect given the gushing.

Bottle shared by Kinz at the 20th Richmond Gathering. Thanks! Pours a dark reddish-brown color with not much of a head. Nice roasty, chocolate aroma with some nuttiness and dark fruits. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, mild hops. Medium bodied, well balanced, quite tasty. Lubiere (14246) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 29, 2009
A deep intense dark stout with a dark dark moka head. Very pleasant sweet chocolate and coffee aroma, fruity, lightly hopped, with light wafting alcohol. In mouth, a very rich stout, with good bitter chocolate, well balanced with light sweet notes, cold coffee, nice hops bitterness and roastiness. A very surprising and well done stout, veering on Imperial territory. Bottle bought at Monde de la Biere, Summer 2008. hopdog (13211) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 27, 2014
On tap at the Brew Pub in I’lle d’Orleans. Poured a dark brown with a small sized off white. Roast, chocolate, and a light coffee finish. Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 1, 2008
Pours black with small and dissipitating brown head. Looks thick, full roasted barley/coffee aroma. The taste is with above average mouthfeel. Straight out roast, not bad at all. But 500 ml. was way too much. One dimensional taste and without complexity, decent malt backing.
