In the heroine Atalanta, we see the traits of what we aim for in all of our beers: piquant, deceptively robust, and a bit wild. A tart plum saison, Atalanta tastes of plums intermingling with spicy yeast, and a refreshing tartness that makes Atalanta as good for pairing with food as by itself.

Food pairing
Atalanta is mildly assertive, fruity, acidic, and dry. Its acidity and fruitiness make it an ideal complement to most cheeses and oysters. Its dryness and only mild assertiveness means it can also be paired very well with poultry and delicate fish, but it has enough flavor to also be paired nicely with a strong curry.

Hops: Newport
Grain: Two row barley, white wheat, flaked wheat
Fermentation: wild sour mash, French saison yeast
Other: Plums, cold pressed for us

Fisler (713) - Bamberg, GERMANY - NOV 30, 2017

PorterPounder (8313) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 4, 2017
Athens, Ga - Royal Peasant Pub - 12 oz can, Hazy, medium gold pour, light off-white head. Aroma has a nice funk, some dried apricot funkiness, a touch of vinegar. Flavor has a solid earthy funkiness, some roasted notes, plum sweetness, a touch of vinegar. Nice spritz to the mouthfeel.

Lore (2919) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 13, 2017
hazy pale yellow colour, minimal head, which collapses quickly; aroma of lemon juice, dry white wine-oak vbarrel notes, some unripe fruitiness and camomile notes;taste of citric acid/lemon juice, unripe sour plum and some bittery-tannin like notes; refreshing one

Idiosynkrasie (8041) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2017
355ml can. Hazy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Funky aroma, dusty and peppery-spicy, yeasty overtones, a lactic vinegar touch. Taste is tart to sour, slightly funky and minimally fruity, hints of unripe plum. Berliner Weisse-Saison hybrid.

Taboada (1481) - Compostela (Galiza), SPAIN - OCT 9, 2017
12oz can. Tasted on the 06/10/2017 at home. Clear golden with a small and quickly dissapearing white head. Aroma is lactic and tarty. Taste is medium acidic and bitter with a medium sour touch. Disgusting finish, not even refreshing. Next one please!

culchiem (4176) - Berlin, GERMANY - OCT 6, 2017
Can from Bierkonig. Hazy yellow with a frothy head. Aroma of tart fruit. Flavour is acidic tart that drys the mouth. A bit of salt, wheat, dry mouth.

ogivlado (8126) - Zagreb, CROATIA - AUG 31, 2017
Canned 355ml. -from Beergium. Hazy yellow coloured, medium sized white head that went away fast, tart nose. Tart plums, slightly acidic fruity, light citrusy and some fruity sweetness with again rather tart finish. Very good one.

CloakedDagger (2858) - - AUG 31, 2017
Can 35,5 cl. Pours a cloudy, grayish golden with a white head. Tart, lactic aroma - plum I don't pick up. Light body, again tart and lactic, baking yeast - still no plums. Not sure why it's considered a plum, in all circumstances it appears like a fruited Berliner Weisse. Not bad, I just don't plums have a flavor distinctive enough to survive the acidity. 310817

j12601 (13188) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 18, 2017
On tap at Taco Mac. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Soft acid on the nose, a bit of fruit, musk, a hint of fuzzy yeast. Medium bodied, soft acidity, light and tart, gentle wheat and a touch of plum. Acidity is bright but subtle, tart into the finish, wheat, musk, lightly acidic. Quite drinkable. Very pretty.
