Inky and viscous. Aroma puts me in the mind of devils food cake batter. ABV is masked. Dark chocolate, moderately sweet, vanilla tones, light acidity, not staunchly bitter. Smoooth mouthfeel, chewy body, residual dark cocoa powder finish. On tap, Taco Mac, John’s Creek. With LuckyDog. chinchill (5071) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 31, 2016
UPDATED: MAY 6, 2016 On tap in Atlanta.
Pours with a tall tan head over dark body.
Appealing aroma has notes of chocolate, toffee, and faint coffee. There’s more coffee in the flavor. Hints of dark fruits, vanilla, roasted nuts and toffee. Excellent balance and creamy smooth full body. aracauna (3616) - Georgia, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Very solid. Hazelnut is present but not overwhelming or artificial. Nice note for a Chocolatey stout. Vanilla nice, but this isn’t a spiced beer as much as a beer with spiced notes. drfabulous (8085) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - DEC 29, 2015
Draught at Hop City. Big dark chocolate stout with nice notes. Rich overall and enjoyable. ordybill (1799) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Poured from the tap into a tulip glass. The appearance is a clear black color with a small light brown head. The aroma is full of roasted malt and alcohol. The taste is a full on wall of malt with some nuttiness.

Can you think of a better beer to uncap on Christmas? ;) Pours deep, warm sable with a thick and persistent tan head. Aroma presents roast malt, nutty, coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and subtle vanilla notes. Flavor has more in the way of chocolate and vanilla, and adds a bit of hay to the roast and slightly charred malt, coffee, caramel and nutty tones. Firm, viscous body features good fizz. 12/16/15. Growler from Craft on Draft. Black pour with a small tan head, mild lacing. Nutty aroma, ashy maltiness, a hint of acidity, rich, booze. Chocolate flavor, nutty, mild vanilla, harsh, mild acidity. Something about this doesn’t jive right for me. Disappointed but not bad. I have a bottle as well, so we’ll see how that is in a week or two when I share with family. JHeath99 (1679) - Warner Robins, Georgia, USA - DEC 15, 2015
Growler shared by MK. Pours an opaque black with tan head. Aroma and taste of chocolate, nuts, hints of vanilla. jbruner (4796) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - DEC 12, 2015
Pours a deep brownish black from the bomber with thin ring of tan brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and nutty notes. Taste is awesome hazelnut notes with dark chocolate and roasty malt notes. Silky and smooth, booze well hidden. Solid. rdixon77 (2874) - Georgia, USA - DEC 12, 2015
Solid all around imperial. Dark black pour. Chocolate big up front. Booze warming, some nuttiness, fairly sweet. Medium bodied for a big beer, and pretty damn boozy for 10.5%. Still not a bad effort.
