Strawberries, cherries, and peaches in the aroma. The head was big and white, the beer itself was a medium orange color. The first thing that hit me when I drank it was that it wasn’t well balanced, the alcohol feel on the tounge was a little bit too much. After it warmed a bit (I think it was served too cold), the fruit flavors came out and it became more enjoyable. I’ll have to try this again in the future to see if maybe my rating that’s lower than most is due to handling issues.

Dit bier komt binnen en je weet dat het goed is. Zo'n bier evannell (1438) - Kraków, POLAND - DEC 4, 2017
Nie spodziewałbym się po Trapistach takiej bomby. Sour, delikatny dzikus, dość wysoki chmiel. Super kombinacja. I to belgijskie, gładkie podłoże. Bardzo dobrze gra to ze sobą. Chcę jeszcze. PaleAle79 (1) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 4, 2017 does not count
One of my all time favorites. Bone dry ale that has golden-brown color and somewhat hazy, yeasty appearance. Refreshing fruity & herbal hoppiness. A somewhat tart aftertaste that lingers on (tart mainly in a stylistic, positive way). tmdaines (160) - Stretford, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2017
A lovely Trappist beer. ABV seems relatively low and this aids the versatility of the beer. Not too rich, good aroma of dried fruit and toffee.

Out of the bottle came a hazy orange liquid with a frothy head. Strong aroma of unripe fruit and definitely some phenolic notes. Expecting my sweetish Trappist ale, I was taken by surprise by its dry, almost sour notes and noticeable bitterness. Not unlike a Saison I brewed some years ago during a hot spell in summer, so I assume fairly high fermentation temperature. adamnase (932) - Kronoby, FINLAND - NOV 30, 2017
A complex beer, not bad at all. I might still get to really like it, but it will certainly be an acquired taste.
Bottle from Alko (ABV 6,9%). Pours dark orange coloured with an huge white head. Aroma is sour fruits and hops. high carbonation. Flavour is fruity, hint of strawberry and apples, with some citrus in there also. Dry finish p0urmeac0ld0ne (310) - Merthyr Tydfil, WALES - NOV 27, 2017
Bizarre cutting cider taste, more like a sour beer than a Trappist (although officially Trappist). Easily the strangest tasting out of the Trappists that I have hunted down thus far, and I think I will need to try another few times to fully understand what is going on here. I guess Orval is kinda like the David Lynch of beers, if I could make such a lofty and preposterous statement. I look forward to returning to it and trying again.
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2017 Great Trappist beer. Sampled many times from the bottle and it never fails.
