Bottle from Yamaya, as "Kuninocho Kura Kolsch." Lightly fruity and funky nose (infected?) Hazy light straw color. Thin fruity sourness, some light citrus peel, and a flattish funky finish. Thin body. Keyaki. Interesting. Smells surprisingly sweet for the style. Grainy though, and the taste is dry and floury as expected. Just that initial whiff of something like strawberry which is a bit confusing. Still nice enough though.

Draft at the brewery. It has a nice golden straw color with a fluffy white head. Mild carbonation & it is fairly true to style. A grassy hay like flavor, thin mouth feel. It is ok. I think it is light & refreshing but drinking it on a cold winter day is disappointing, it is a beer made for a hot summer day. It’s decent but I think that their Gold is by far their best brew. I don’t buy craft beers to drink middle of the road lagers...

BC from the offie in Namba Ocat, Osaka, drank back home. Brass pour slightly filmy with bits under a low white head. Slightly edgy, equine, manure and lily-hinting aroma. Lambic and metallic streaks over marmalade-like fruit. Fruity and lightly acidic with some strange, muddy hops and yeast; apricot and grassy notes, a metallic tang, a long cashew-accented aftertaste. Cloudy golden – white head. Fruity, light wheaty, citrus, orange, yeasty, grainy, bread, light zesty bitterness, cardboard, hay, grassy hoppy. OK.....ReRate: Bottle at Kimi Ryokan, Ikebukuro. Medium golden color, tall, fine head, just a touch cloudy. Faint aroma of light malt and ok hops. Malt is warm and slightly sweet, a bit grainy and fruity. Mellow, round flavor and mouthfeel. Buttery, caramel, some fruit—melon? Mild hops. Smooth and refreshing, though nicely balanced and rich. Not immediately recognizeable as Koelsch, Not really outstanding, but solid and interesting enough.
