Tap at the brewery. Cloudy amber/brown with a cream head. Nose is dough, caramel, light banana, and clove. Easy on the palate, flavor is wheat, caramel, spices, and a smooth finish. SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - NOV 13, 2011
On tap at brewery. Pours a cloudy brown with beige head. Aroma has hints of banana, dark roasted grain, yeast with a hint of citrus and chocolate. Flavor is much the same with light sweetness. Medium body with soft, medium carbonation. Overall, not bad! dbzmah (2) - USA - JAN 16, 2011 does not count
Had this beer at Caves lounge on Division st in Arlington TX, though it is also available at Ozzie Rabbit. An excellent example of a Dunkelweiss and even better than Franconia’s winter wheat. A bit of fruity taste and very smooth. Reminded me of Schnieder Aventinus but with that familiar carmel taste of most Franconia beers. Smell and appearance could have actually been higher had i got it at Ozzie Rabbit, as Caves is a dark smokey bar and the flavor and view was masked a bit. A great Texas beer from a great German Brewmaster. Really like this beer. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 11, 2010
(Draught, Ozzie Rabbit’s Lodge) Pours a hazy brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma of raisins, nuts, light banana bread, and grain. Flavor of nuts, maple, wheat, and light butterscotch. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 10, 2010
(draught at caves) murky brown with a very creamy head. Nose of wheat, dark fruits, gingerbread, and banana. Taste of ripe banana, very yeasty, raisins, honey wheat bread, and nice creaminess. Finish has raisins, dark wheat bread and it’s well carbonated. Honestly one of franconia’s better beers.

Tap at Caves Lounge in Arlington. This beer is brewed exclusively for Caves and Ozzie’s. Pours a very murky light brown color, although looks red with the odd lighting here. Fratto held his phone behind it and the opacity was interesting to say the least. Light aroma, some acidic fruit but not a whole lot. Taste is fruity with some light grain. Easy mouthfeel. Yeast esters are present on the flavor as well. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 11, 2010
On tap at Cave’s Lounge. Pours so murky that it’s opaque with a small white head. Creamy as hell. Aroma is fruity, sweet spice, almost chocolate, butterscotch, and tart melons. Taste is sweet, fruit, sticky, tart, and a tad hoppy. Very easy drinking. Great finish.
