What did oSKAr the G’Rauch say to the face? Slap! Aromas of freshly-peeled orange and apricots with a touch of……..smoke? Juicy citrus and fruit flavors dominate but don’t overpower the slightly sweet malt structure. Finish is all citrus rind ping-ponging with some smoky phenols

Shared can. Pours golden orange with an average white head. Aroma of smoke, pine, and citrus. Taste is smoke, grapefruit, tropical, and malt. Not a fan.

Backlog rating. Keg at BD Shoreditch tap takeover, London. It pours a clear copper/brown color with small tan head. Aroma is sweet and smoky, with bacon, charcoal, ashes, wurstel. Taste has more sweet and smoky notes of bacon and wurstel, hog roast, licorice, wood and red fruits. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, ok smoked

Pour on tap, hazy dark reddish orange pour with slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of smoke, earth, medicine, some odd fusel notes into a bit of citrus peel, touch of caramel. Taste was odd, some smoky, ashy notes into campfire, some fusel, touch of medicine and sour grain, touch of citrus and caramel, finishing slightly sweet.

Tap at red cow downtown in snifter with commonmac. Really nice hazy orange color with thick white to off white head. Smells of citrus with an underlying smokiness. Smoke is evident in taste but not too overwhelming. Definitely there though .otherwise a nice balance of alcohol sweet and citrus hop. Pretty good and definitely unique. Doesn’t make me grouchy.

Tap at a red cow event. Light Amber color. Nose is light smoke w some fruityness. Taste has lots of orange peel, spices and a nice touch of smoke that doesn’t go unnoticed but definitini doesn’t over power or kill the palate like some smoked beers. Tastes a bit like christmas

Sample at Daily Growler. Clear copper color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of smoked malt, hops and pine. Medium to full body with flavors of smoky malt, tropical fruits and resiny hops. The finish is citrusy with an earthy malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Growler at Craig’s tasting. Thin, sweet, light smoke, dry, little bit of fruit.

McNeillR (2338) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 25, 2014
Pale enough golden brown. Smells like diluted fuel, maltish. Steely, oddly fruity booze - stewed and not enjoyably bitter. Not enjoyable by much at all by the finish, tips too much booze and an oily mouthfeel into things.

Keg, Brewdog, Edinburgh

Bottled at Taylors & Jones with the Twist, Stockholm. Cloudy amber, small head. Weird combination of of smoke and citrusy hop up front. Turbs out lie cardboard. Mid sweet with full body and clean, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Light smoke, some old grapefruit peels. Quite bitter finish. Dull.
