Crowler thanks to Steve. Muddy brown pour with a small beige head. A bit underwhelming, the coconuts coming through just fine, but little presence from the bourbon barrel. Milky sweet aroma and taste, coconuts (of course) and vanilla. I just thought there’d be more from the barrels. BuckeyeBoy (8656) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 14, 2016

Sample @ Northern Lights. Deep brown pour with a small head. Rich coffee. Plenty of chocolate. The coconut character that’s so assertive in the non-BA version is obscured here. It comes through a bit more in flavor. Fairly hot barrel presence. Sweet chocolate, toasty malt. Full bodied, oily. Fine, but the barrel aging doesn’t help this beer. brokensail (16678) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 20, 2016
On tap @ Capitol Beer. Black pour with a khaki head. Really heavy coffee and spice notes. Nice barrel, some charred wood, and plenty of coconut. Flavor is quite spicy. Odd. Sweet coconut, bourbon, and roasted malt. A lot of coffee flavor. Toasted marshmallow, walnuts, and cocoa powder. Not bad at all.

Sample at Northern Lights. Dark maroon brown color, scant head. Aroma has vanilla, soft roast, subtle coconut. Taste is similarly subtle coconut, dark coffee, cocoa. OK. ryanfolty (2613) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - MAR 13, 2016
March 12, 2016 - on tap at Rare Beer Fest held in the Minnesota History Center. Dark pour with limited head. Not sure why, but the flavors seemed very mild. Didn’t have the strong chocolate and coconut flavors from the non-BA version and the bourbon in this was also very mild. bhensonb (15858) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 27, 2016
Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with garnet glints and a tan smear. Aroma is bourbon/chocolate/maybe coconut. Med ++ body. Flavor is rather "spritely" bourbon/chocolate/coconut. Amazing flavor - bourbon is a major thing - but the mix of flavors is rather subtle. Wowser!
