COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume.

Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can?

Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can’t, where flavorless canned beers don’t belong. And no matter where you drink Dale’s Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Can pours a light orange with a full white head. Taste is malty, with a semisweet graininess, and a long hoppy finish. The hops are very present, somewhat fruity, but bold like an imperial pale ale.

Pours a clean amber colour with a big warm creamy head, great retention and some nice foamy lacing. Aromas of an Imperial IPA with the grassiness and caramel malts. Then, I get some rustiness, which seems to disappear after a while. Good. The taste is pretty mild at first with the caramel and then, finally the hops showing late in the finish. This creates a decent bitterness with nice dryness. Feels more like an IIPA than a pale ale.

Light amber with a white head, some lacing and a spicy, mildly hoppy nose. Mild, malty mouthfeel with a pleasant, caramel, long-lasting, hoppy finish.

Pas mal, peut-être un peu vieille aussi. Légèrement alcooleuse. Au nez pas mal de citron et fond légèrement orange. Bouche : assez agrumes, un petit fond malté. Fnale plutôt sèche et longueur vraiment pas mal !

355ml can from LCBO. Pours a fairly big frothy off-white head and has a pale golden appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas of light roasted malts, earthy and herbal hops. Flavours are a mix of malt and hop notes. Earthy hops and slight bitterness. Some subtle caramel as well as bready malt hints. Good balance of sweetness and bitterness. Quite easy to drink and plenty flavourful.

Can, 0.355l. Clear deep amber color with medium soapy off-white head, good lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, papaya, passion fruit, pine, herbs and dust. Taste starts with medium sweet toasted and caramel malt, following is grassy with some dried fruity and papery note, mouthfeel is astringent, while finish is heavy bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and lively carbonation in palate. Richer, hoppier and bolder than many IPA’s...

A classic pale ale and a perennial favorite. Strong aroma of hops, which was surprising for a pale ale (would be more expected of an IPA). Had a very nice brown-amber color when poured into a glass, though honestly I had previously always sipped straight from the can like a heathen. Some light bitterness. They are definitely into this drinking from the can thing, which is cool for camping and stuff I guess. A relatively inexpensive and nice brew.

Draft Third of a Pint at GBBF 2010 (Day 1), Earl’s Court, London Aug 2010 - Dark amber in colour. Exceedingly Hoppy for an APA; piney resinous oily and earthy hops. This special batch had a little twist however - Dry-hopped with Centennial. Assertively hopped and very bitter. Should be classed as an IPA. (2010-08)
