COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume.

Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can?

Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can’t, where flavorless canned beers don’t belong. And no matter where you drink Dale’s Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2014 Poured from a can. Golden orange color, mostly clear. Head disappears quickly, minimal lacing. The aroma is subdued - light citrus hops. Taste is also mild - I typically go for IPA’s, so this is my general comment about most pale ales. It’s well balanced - the hops are citrus and a touch of pine. There’s also some lemon notes after you get past the hops. Carbonation and mouthfeel are right on - I was half way through this beer in no time. Once I slowed down a little, I realized the flavors started to open up more as the beer warmed up. Overall, a very good American pale ale. Had this again on tap. Carbonation was more prominent. Still very good.

330ml can. This is new to the UK ..I’ve had this before anyway . A good beer to drink while fishing in a polluted river or in the morning when you’ve given yourself the day off. Drunk direct from the can ,you feel manly , tough and very repressed macho tribal. Damn liberal elites wanna ban free speech, masturbation and drinking pale ale early in the morning. You call this dysfunctional ? I call it liberty. Dales Pale has Gary’s thumb up. Good shit.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2017 Can from Maryhill Tesco Express Glasgow. Beer served in 5°C, Duvel Glass. What a huge disappointment, beer is not even near to IPA flavor. Smell and taste is just like some cheap lager, a lot of metallic notes, iron, some malt, moderate bitterness, but harsh and without typical american hops aroma. Maybe this beer was been incorrectly stored, or not all of them are fine, but either way, I will think twice next time, before buying next Oskar Blues beer.

355ml can from Tesco. Sweet pale malt with juicy hops that are gently assertive without edging into aggression. Quite strong, but that’s not really noticeable in the malt. This is like a strong lager with modern hops. It’s quite drinkable - I think the balance is OK. On the whole I think I prefer drinking a strong Euro lager, but there is a place in my life for an occasional one of these.

Great, resonous, sweet and malty nose, substantial floral and citrus hops, too; well balanced assertive malty and hoppy flavor, earthy and piney with a sweet front end and substantially bitter and quick finish; slick and a bit dry palate; perhaps the best can of beer ever.

From a can. Great example of the style, heaps of hops and dangerously drinkable.
