Pours a very hazy copper with a nice off white head that dwindles to a thin layer and then sticks around. Extremely "sticky" lacing coats the glass. Smells great: fruit, caramel, dough, and some pine. Tastes of the same; I get mango for the fruit and a strong resiny presence. Phenomenal beer. OB does it again. Not surprised.

Guess I expected more. More what, I’m not sure, I guess a hair more malty backbone to balance it out. I love hops as much as the next guy, but . . . poured a nice amber color, fantastic aroma, but in the end it was so bitter it was almost ear-waxy flavored or something. Nice mouthfeel, good viscosity, but with the A**-kickin scotch ale these guys produce I KNOW they know the value of malt flavor. Just a bit off-balance for my tastes, but if you’re a hophead you should try. Beauty is in the tastebuds of the beholder.

16oz Can 3 months old from Casanova liquor.. Pour is a deeper Garnett than I thought and nose is hoppy and dank taste is the same but more balanced and almost thick and chewy like a cloying clinging sensation which muddles the hops

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2012 On tap at below the radar, Huntsville AL. Orange brown pour, foamy white head with lots of uneven lacing. smells faintly of pixie stix and orange kool aid mix. Medium body. Robust and complicated flavor, more subdued than the nose. Bitter at first, taste becomes savory and buttery, hops are prevalent but this is hearty like a chicken/rice dinner. Palate is left a little bitter and dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear amber with a white head that rapidly fades. Quite a potent aroma consisting of lots of pine, pineapple, orange, mango, and some malty caramel undertones. Taste is extremely heavy on pine with a good balance of some caramel. Hops are distinct, but this one lacks the big hoppy kick that is common and expected in something like this. I also get some undertones of some darker fruits such as plum, as unusual as that might seem. A little pineapple as well. Short aftertaste of pine and hops. Dry and very bitter. Medium bodied. Sticky, but not overly so. This is a very good IPA. While it lacks in some places such as a bigger hoppy bite, it is more than made up for in lots of other areas, being the taste and aroma.

Ok, was wanting a little more character. Not too old. Canned a month who, but tasted flat and a little bland to me. Did really enjoy the nose. Very earthy and nice hops up front.

Draft. Pours deep gold with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet and pine. Taste is overhwlemingly piny. Not pleasant at all. Only thing that saves this is the flat, crisp drinkability. Not great, but a easy drinking higher ABV beer, so I guess it has its place. But overall my least favorite Oskar Blues offering.

A pleasant hoppy brew. It’s not overwhelming. Dale’s has a medium to a high level of bitterness, it’s not extreme & holds a flavor beyond the bittery alcoholness. That is why this is a good beverage. The Deviant Dale’s isn’t meant to simply be a bitter hop-lover’s dream... it’s also meant to be a good beer that holds flavor. You decide, cheers.

copper colored pour, average sized head. very resinous hoppy aroma with some sweetness, but overall very hoppy and fresh. flavor is also very hoppy, nice medium thick mouthfeel. piney, woody, such of sweetness, nice thick malt base but very big and bold hops in this one. finishes very bitter and satisfyingly and lingers on forever. reminds me of a slightly maltier and heavier union jack maybe, with less citrus/fruit overtones. this is seriously good stuff and i am really glad i was able to find some fresh. wholeheartedly deserves the 99% style rating, this is a top IPA for sure
