COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

[email protected] Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, nice hops along with some earthyness. Flavour is big and nice floral and fruity hops with some nice malts ablancing it up. Big fruity aftertaste. Kickass IPA!

Tallboy can. Pine, citrus, and some tropical fruit in the nose. Light amber-brown, big head, and very rowdy carbonation. Tongue-stripping hops in initial; malt peeks out in mid palate; final is more balanced; the hopping sort of washes away in the aftertaste. Medium body. It’s a big one, to be sure. Good.... but I didn’t want more than one, or even all of one, actually.

16 oz can purchased at Joy in Denver, Colorado. 07-03-12 stamped on the bottom of the can. The pour is mostly clear golden amber with a cream colored two inch head. The head falls slow with pretty lacing. The aroma is resin, dry floral, onion peel and caramel toast malt. The taste is the hops, bitter, resinous, the onion and dry hay floral. The malt shows for a flash, mostly toasted malt, then dries back out with the bitter hops. The palate is medium bodied, low carbonation, dry finish that shows some alcohol heat. Overall, a tasty beer.

16oz can, dated 7/26/12, fresh from grape & gourmet. pours a reddish hued gold capped by a creamy, bright white head that leaves sticky sheets of lace on the glass. aroma is outstanding with huge tropical fruit notes of pineapple, mango, and tangerine backed by spicy, resinous hop oils, pine forest, fresh hebrs, and orange peels with subtle notes of frosted cereal. flavor is wonderful as well with a heavy dose of orange pulp, tangerine, and white grapefruit up front followed by sweeter, more tropical notes of pineapple and apricot and finished off with a heft dose of bitter, herbal, piney hops and caramel malts. palate is medium bodied with dense carbonation that gives this one an almost creamy mouthfeel with a great balance of sweeness and bitterness. overall, a great canned dipa.

Cask at Firestone (Eau Claire, WI). 600th beer rating. This was pumped into a tulip, hazy, with a thick head. Explosive aroma’s of hops and citrus. Flavor was so balanced of malts and hops, yet it did not dissapoint on the strong bitterness that I desire in my IPA’s. This was on the verge of a IIPA. It was so easy to drink and a strong bite in the finish. Excellent IPA!

On tap..pours dark amber with short-lasting bubbly head. A great balance between strength and smoothness. A sipping beer that can go down quickly

Wow! Dank gnarly pour. Beige head that fades but laces decently. Some black licorice or anise notes and even soy sauce. Interesting. Oily hop goodness. Just a total palate wrecker. Painted my tongue within a few swallows. This is really a DIPA on the low alcohol side. Another outstanding offering from o.b.

Draft at sugar maple. Faint hint of pine in the nose. Hazy amber. Thin off white head. Wonderful sheet lace. Initially bubble gum which shifts quickly to maple syrup... And hops. Wanted it to be better but very good.

After 30+ IPA’s . . . no contest, the best I have had thus far. Can not believe its in a can! The visual in the glass is a orange sunrise and slightly cloudy. Beautimous! Hoppy? YES. Bitter? Kind of. But an extremely smooth mellow taste. Goes down too easy! Nose? Insane apricots and oranges and mild tangerine. Palate is amazingly smooth. Nice ABV that is VERY well hidden but there nonetheless. I would give it a perfect score but I’m pnly 45 and there so many IPA’s! Paid 12 for a 4pk of tall boys. Will be back for more tomorow!
