smells and looks awesome. fresh malt and citrus hops. looks really nice in the glass. almost clear, light yellowish brown, with a 1 finger off white head a lot of lacing. I’m very surprised by the sip tho. Not a whole lot of liveliness in the mouthfeel. The hops come through big time on the nose, and they are definitely there in the immediate flavor. What gets me is there is no long drawn out aftertaste like you might get with an imperial IPA. At 8%, this is a big IPA. I’m not too big on the mouthfeel, but i am drinking out of some weird Gordon Bierch glass with some kind of bubble making imprint on the bottom of the glass... help me what is this??? Hasn’t changed my overall perception of a beer yet, but maybe i pulled all of the carbonation out of this beer somehow. I think this beer is good, the balance is really close at 8 percent, because it doesn’t seem too heavy or too sweet. I’m just not getting quite the true home-brew flavor I’m used to with this company on this one. I paid 14 bucks for 4 tall cans at Bev-Mo. The lady at Bev Mo was even impressed i paid that much. All I can say at that point is that it’s almost cheaper than going to the bar. I like the brewery. had to try it. won’t buy it again, but not bad.

Crazy hops. Great beer. Not a floral or citrus type IPA, just straight up pine and hops that any IPA fan should love. Will have it again

Appearance: Clear golden with a medium sized off-white head and good lacing
Aroma: Citrus, fruity and mild caramel
Taste: Grapefruit, tropical fruit and malty
Can in Georgia. Pour is clear copper with a medium white head. Aroma is loaded with sticky resinous hops, light bright citrus notes, and faint caramel malt. Flavor is quite nice. Very smooth and cohesive combination of caramel malt and resinous hops with a hint of citrus. Very creamy and smooth. Rather than the hops being highlighted by a malty background or the malt being thrust forward with some balancing hops, this beer is a really nice balance of both at the forefront. Neither dominates and they do not compete. Just very well balanced. DYCSoccer17 (3706) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 3, 2012
16 ounce can purchased at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Canned on 07/03/2012, so this is exactly one month old. Herbal, citrus, grapefruity aroma with hints of pine. Seem to be a lot of PNW C-Hops in this. Pretty piney, though. Light sweet, caramel malts are also present in the nose. This smells a bit like Pliny...must be the Columbus hops. Transparent dark orange body with a large, strong, frothy off-yellow rocky head. Gorgeous. The start on this is really oily and slicky with piney hop resins and grapefruit character. The middle is a little more chewy and sticky with sweet, sugary caramel character. Finishes with some tannins and a little resinous, before more piney bitter hops come through in the end. Good flavor, good aroma, beautiful beer, but just cloying as hell.

Draught at Macgregor’s Penfield. Amber-copper color with a fine head. Fruity, juicy nose of grape and citrus. Nice grainy malt flavor, citrus and other fruits, a very little bit of caramel, and earthy hop character. Interesting and nice. Should be classified as a DIPA in my opinion.

Sampled on 8/2/2012. IPA Day! This Imperial IPA pours an orange gold color from a 16oz can. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, citrusy and piney hops. A touch of grapefruit as well. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and piney. Decent carbonation. Lots of hop flavors with a nice malt backbone. Some lingering reisny bitterness. A nice solid Imperial IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
