Sampled at the SCCCT event at Friendship Brewery. In a 16oz. aluminum waxed can. It poured a red / amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of caramel, bourbon, molasses, oak and a hint of vanilla. The taste was similar to the aroma with more toffee, caramel, bourbon, molasses, vanilla and oak. Great beer.

Backlog rating. Keg at Two Bit in BD Shoreditch, London. It pours a rich copper / mahogany color with medium tan head. Aroma is sweet and boozy, with mango, toffee, milk chocolate and orange rind. Taste is also sweet boozy with vanilla, wood, orange and toffee. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, sweet and boozy

4oz tap into tulip glass at Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids and Solids. Translucent, deep amber, thin white head. Nose is strong sweet bourbon, molasses, syrup, alcohol. Smells like a glass of whisky. Body is thick and rich. Taste is very forward-- booze, bourbon, maple. The sweetness and alcohol mask some of subtle flavors, but I still like it. Definitely doesn’t taste the strength. It does leave a lingering whisky aftertaste. Very pleasant. Great for dessert.

A very good beer though not all that complex. I only get the molasses a bit in the finish. Appearance is ok. Aroma mainly caramel. Flavor’s a little more than nose with some toffee, whiskey, more sweet than bitter, a bit of tang. Body is good, boozy, just enough carbonation. Da beer.

Can. Burnt orange hue, good clarity, with a short-lived light tan head. Aroma is whiskey-laden, with sweet orange, toffee and cocoa accents. Flavor is a smooth blend of molasses, dried orange, toasted coconut, toffee and oaky vanilla. High ABV is apparent, but the flavor is very nice.

Well, this is a bruiser. Pours amber / brown with a small white head. The aroma has molasses, brown sugar, some bourbon, heavy toast and a heaping helping of booziness. It has a fairly thick body that is velvety and has soft carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma notes and is pretty sweet and malty. Its very hot and bourbony. The finish warms up even more. Maybe my palate can’t pick up on nuances when its the heavy in alcohol, but it seemed fairly one dimensional to me.

Can shared at a tasting. First time I’ve seen a waxed can. Clear dark brown, thin fizzy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of caramel, toffee, strong vanilla, raisin, molasses. Taste is caramel, toffee, dark fruits, whiskey, vanilla, spice, coconut. Medium bodied, boozy.
