Our ’Velvet M-80’ is a hefty, dry hopped double-red ipa with a nose full of aroma, a sticky mouthfeel, a malty middle and unctuous hop flavors. G’Knight sports a surprisingly sensuous finish for a beer of its size (8.7% ABV, 60 IBUs). It’s brewed in tribute to a fellow Colorado craft beer pioneer and Vietnam vet who died fighting a 2002 wild fire outside of our Lyons hometown. 12 fl oz can. Pours clear and amber with a 2 finger thick light orange head. Dry, woody, grapefruity and peachy aroma. Flavour holds a solid sweet malt base with a nice fruityness on top. In the finish a nice liqourice note appears. Simple and very flavourful, great stuff.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2007 A deep red beer with an orange head. The aroma is very hoppy combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, and light notes of hops, and even wood in the end, which is dry.

Can. Pours a clear amber color with s longlasting off-white head. Maly hoppy piney citrus aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy piney flavor with some hints of grapefruit. Long malty finish with some weak chocolate hints and it has a long bitter aftertaste.

Canned (thanks heemer77!). Dark coppery colour with huge offwhite creamy head, which leaves a lot of lacing behind. Aroma is big time hops (grass, hay as well as freshly cut wood). Flavour is very much the same, strong hops along with a slight creamy touch and some slight stinging alcohol in the finish.

On draught at Birreria Paradiso. Clear golden amber color. Very strong hop flavor but well balanced with a very strong presence of malt. Nice one.

Canned at The Rover, Göteborg. Clear orange-brown, small head. Striking lychee aroma. Sweet and rounded with medium body. Bready and lightly fruity, very hoppy. Lingering very bitter finish where some light saccharine disturbs a little. Best beer out of a can?

24th September 2008. Hazy brown beer. Lovely hop profile - robust aromatic hop delivering loads of grapefruit but with no acidity or bitterness. This is laid on a solid foundation of malt. Very drinkable indeed!
