Our ’Velvet M-80’ is a hefty, dry hopped double-red ipa with a nose full of aroma, a sticky mouthfeel, a malty middle and unctuous hop flavors. G’Knight sports a surprisingly sensuous finish for a beer of its size (8.7% ABV, 60 IBUs). It’s brewed in tribute to a fellow Colorado craft beer pioneer and Vietnam vet who died fighting a 2002 wild fire outside of our Lyons hometown. Slightly cloudy amber color. Sips full hoppy and delish. Huge floral hops dominate, but decently balanced by caramel malt sweetness. This is a bold delicious beer. Nothing less than I would expect from this great brewery. Full body through. Hop presence in the finish is quite strong. Haven’t had too many imperial reds...it’s basically a double ipa. Excellent brew.

Can. BB 16.11.2017. Very dark, clear reddish-amber with thick creamy white head. Really nice and malty, a bit of a tropical red fruit hint. Surprisingly resiny, almost like juniper. Alcohol well disguised. Very good brew.

Can shared with friends. Pours clear amber with reddish tinge. Solid off white head that persists. Big aroma, sweet tropical fruit with pine notes. Flavour is a very nice balance of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Taste is reasonably sweet with solid bitterness. Palate is full and smooth. Overall a great American Red double IPA.

Can from Alko. Reddish brown with medium head. Nutty, fruity, warming alcohol bite. Full bitterness.

From a 355ml can on 9/8/2017. Pours a reddy amber with a medium head. The nose features, caramel, toast ans some fruity notes. Tatse wise, it features a nice malt and sweet fruit balance. More caramel and toast, followed by lots of apricot and peach. The hops give it a firm bitterness, which features a decent amount of pine and resin. The palate is thick and the carbonation moderate. Super easy drinking for something approaching 9%. Lovely.
