Draft - Sweet light caramel, whiskey with some raw oak. Clear gold with a thin white head. Lots of raw oak and caramel with the white crape peeking through with a bit of lightness. Interesting, oaky and sweet. tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 31, 2013
draft at brewery in a firkin. poured out a hazy orange color with white head. hoppy aroma malt base and chardonnay. now this mix for me didn’t work. I am sure some people will like this and some not. got boozy oaky flavor from the barrels but mixed with the imperial red I didn’t care for it. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JUN 9, 2013
On tap at the Common Table’s third anniversary party. This one is aged in chardonnay barrels, not red wine barrels like the G’Knight Wine Barrel Aged.
Pours a light hazy orange color with a white head. The aroma is full of white wine character with some oak and orange citrus. The flavor is very similar. I get some bitter oranges and pine character, as well as a bit of white wine grapes, some light oak and some biscuit malt. Low to medium bitterness, that seems to be softened a bit by the oak. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice.
