Each year GUBNA takes on a personality of its own. We seek out the most exciting and best available hops from each individual season to create a potent and complex Imperial IPA. GUBNA is packed with Rye and North American Pale Malt and accented with Munich Malt to give a spicy and flavorful backbone to support loads of kettle hops driving the IBUs to triple digits.
** This beer will now feature different hops in the massive dry hop every year.
2015 - Features whole leaf Galena hops, plus Sorachi Ace and Columbus hops. Dry hopped with copious amounts of El Dorado, Comet and Chinook.

My wife likes it and she could not believe it had 100 IBUs because the malty base nicely complements the explosive hops. The alcohol is not well hidden though and with the rye malt seems to add a scotch like palate at its bitter end. The flavor up front is dark caramel with a nice touch of resin to it. Maybe OsKar should bottle this and stray from its can ethos for just this beer? Imagine this with a cork popping out? There is a nice creamy bubbly medium dry texture here. I’d love to have this in a bomber.

Dark gold pour with a fragerance of fruit, pine and pepper. The mouth was piney, hoppy and olive with a citrus finish.. Medium bodied, different from the norm. Spicy and good.

At least now I know that I can’t stand a beer brewed with only summit hops. That’s the only positive thing I can say about this beer. It’s definitely not for me.

12 oz. can, pours hazy, creamy golden orange with a small white head. Huge grassy and citrusy hops aroma upfront, with caramel and grapefruit as well. Flavour has a ton going on - spices, citrus hops, grass, caramel malts, dominant grapefruit towards the end, with that spiciness and bitter citrusy hops finishing. A tremendous barrage of hops - excellent.

Can. Aroma of grass, caramel malt, earth. Orange to light amber color with lace. Sweet and fruity flavor, boozy, hot, with a peppery finish. Soft, light, silky mouth. Quite sweet and boozy. Ok.

Big beer with citrus aroma and lots of malt to balance the hop. Chewy and some alcohol warmth. Lasting Malty finish.

Can. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a thin layer of oily head. The aroma is a potent blend of cannabis, tropical fruit and citrusy hops. The flavor starts with strong tangerine citrus and resinous hops flavors followed by dried pineapple, caramel, orange rind and pine resin. The alcohol is very aggressive and almost overpowers all the other flavors toward the end of each sip. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and syrupy with a bitter, citrusy finish. The overall flavor is intensely bitter and borderline acidic with lots of tropical fruit and alcohol. Not bad but it definitely could have used more malt to balance things out.

On draft from a growler. Pours a golden amber with a nice white head that disipates slowly. Grapefruit/citrus aroma punches you in the nose. Very hoppy flavor nicely balanced with malt. Alcohol taste in the finish. Very good example of an Imperial IPA. Will definitely look for this one in the future.

On tap at The Belvidere at Broad on 03/30/2010. Hazy orange body with a large rocky tan head. Big citrus and resiny hop aroma. Big citrus, resiny and simcoe flavor with a sweet pale malt background. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.
