Our first lager produced with the 20 bbl brewhouse. This pilsner is a clear golden color. Four additions of Saaz hops lend a spicy-floral hop component.

Czech Pilsner and my least favorite of the brews I tried. Im not sure if its because it was the last one I tasted or if I am becoming too much of a hophead, but this beer just didnt do anything for me. It was a nice, bright cloudy golden yellow with lots of visible carbonation and carried a great thick, creamy head with good retention, but after that it just went downhill like the Troublette. Under my nose, it came across medicinally sweet but with a faint and bitter powdered sugar corn/banana bread malt tint. Oh yeah, there was some yeast in there, too. Weird, I know. The mouthfeel was definitely on the thicker side, with a lighter flavor - basically all sweet cornbread malt - than the nose. I really wish I had more to end on, but thats about as good as its going to get for tonight. Im glad for the experience, as always, but this one would be my last choice at any bar.

Can from Tesco, shared with a very special friend. Light yellow with obvious visible carbonation and a small scum of white head. Rotten vegetable notes in the aroma are buoyed up by vanilla, floral and honey scents. Tastes sweet at first but then turns a bit nasty with herbal and medicinal notes. Skunky finish. Not a fan; I like some pilsners but not this one.

Tap at New bohemia golden valley. Gold with medium white head. Crisp clean grain nose. Taste is spicy for a pils, on the backbone of a mild crisp lightness. Not saying much, but this is as good as a pilsner gets.

330ml can. In a bitburger jug. Huge foamy cream head that glued itself to the glass. Not too much saaz evidence on the nose, but definitely there on the palate. Hay,straw, rustic Colorado welfare recipe. I like this ..quit Euro tastin.

Can from Tesco. Clear and brilliant gold, with a fluffy, white, head. Lemony aroma with a touch of spicy hop. Easy drinking, with crisp malts more sharp fruits, and a pleasantly bitter finish. A good lager.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2017 Floral aroma in a golden pour. Spicy bready body to start with building bitter fruit finish. Pretty much the US take on the style and consequently lacking a little dryness?

Can from Hops and Crafts Exeter. Pours clear pale gold with a frothy white head. Aroma doughy bread ,citrus ,light spicy ,typical pils aroma ,taste is similar but with more citrus hop flavour & a bit cloyingly sweet so not as refreshing as a pils should be ,lacks the crispness a pils should have. Medium bodied the finish is sweet with more citrus, bread & some biscuitiness & spice & a nice dryness . Ok but not great .

Tap. Pours clear golden. Aroma is pale malts with a hint of grassy aromatic hops. Body is light, with a lovely carbonation, still quite sweet, little bitterness. Cant be called refreshing, but no sweet palate either. OK.
